He even got the drop on Wild Bill Hickok with the border roll,like you can see in The Outlaw Josie Wales when he flips his pistols around and ventilates those two maggots accosting the Indian woman at the trading post.

He didnt steal cattle, the Longhorn roamed wild in Texas ,free to anyone brave enough to try,that's what he did he wasn't a thief.
