ОтветитьHello from Oregon! I am scared to death of spiders but also highly fascinated by them as well. When I was in Haiti as a young nurse (on a 3 week medical team) I had two close encounters with huge tarantulas. One was found in our tent ( although we never left it open so no one knows how it got in there) and one was in a closed trunk that I found when I was organizing all the medical supplies. It was hidden in the bottom of a slightly crushed large bottle of betadine and as I pulled the bottle of betadine out of the box a large light brown tarantula followed and unfolded itself on toe tope of the opened box like a flower. Lets just say I screamed, jumped and the box and tarantula went flying through the air and unfortunately landed back in the trunk where it stayed during the duration of our stay. It would jump and scurry around whenever anybody went to get supplies. I never got near that trunk again.

ОтветитьMy god, Linda! Leave the plant alone! 😂
ОтветитьMaybe the plant in Linda’s tank is offensive to her. That’s why she continues to destroy it. It could also be boredom.

ОтветитьPoecilotheria regalis is a large and very attractively colored tarantula. The carapace of the adult is white and gray with a beautiful black ornament in the form of radiating black rays from the fovea. The carapace pattern has its extension on the abdomen. The white center is surrounded by a black border and black stripes radiate from it. The rest of the abdomen is grey. A special feature of the color of the royal tarantula is a white stripe on the underside of the abdomen. Adult legs are alternately white and black, while the underside is bright yellow.
