In spite of what most people think foster care isn't always a bad thing. We had a teenage boy come into our home and he is now 52 with a daughter that they scraped and encouraged to graduate college and she's now a teacher. (I was a teacher and actually a principal when he came into our home). He is such a good man who escaped a home where the children were beaten, and they had never experienced even eating a McDonald's hamburger. He sold me an acre of his property (5 acres) and I built a house next door. He now is devoted to taking care of me (I'm 83) and I have another son in my life, and he has another mother in his. We kept a good relationship with his mother and after she died, he welcomed his father into his home and they were able to make peace with each other before he got Parkinson's, and he spent 3 years in their home before going to a nursing home. He was devoted to his father at the end and was at his side every day in the few weeks leading up to his death. And before you say this is only one instance, I have known any number of children who were cared for in foster homes and turned out to be happy caring adults who made good lives for themselves. Just encourage and care about others. You never know what being kind to someone can mean. it may be all they have that can give them hope. And Hope is awesome.

Beautiful, heartfelt, and every actor is top notch! You don't ever feel like you're watching someone 'act'. If more movies were like this, I'd probably get a whole lot less done in my life!😂

So true, you’re very wise. I was born into a well to do family, neither was poor nor addicted to any substances, I got a good education because I pushed for it. Then I married and not so nice man, that derailed my life, I lost my 3 kids and most of my friends…after I got cancer and he left me….now living alone and have no employment, makes me almost crazy at times. Movies like these keep me entertained. Touching and beautiful.

Hanging tooth! Yes that would be pretty low. I certainly want to keep my teeth. I’ve already lost several and absolutely hate that.

Now if you change the looks of the characters. Make them not as good looking, most ppl will not have the luck of getting a nice guy who is willing to help you unfortunately. This family is consider the lucky ones.

I am a Mother of 4 Beautiful Grown Adult Children. I didn't figure life out until it took me to have my second child. .. My Parents raised My first born. I partied here & there & was the life of the party when I entered a room. (So I thought. Funny how that seems now) Eventually, I Married ... Divorced, & Married Again... Always struggling in addiction. As the years went by, so did life crisis with my children. They've experienced things any Parent wouldn't want for their children to go thru. As A Single Mother now, I am in a good place but there's more inner work to be done with me as far as healing thru losses of family members, my boys in prison, my grandbabies being adopted out I can honestly tell you, I am nothing without God. My Saviour, My Go To Guy. He has made me the woman I am today .. I check in daily with my faith & love for God. I LET GO LET GOD do what he needs to do within me thru me & mold me into the person I need to be to live & love myself ... Today I continue to remind myself that I do matter & to not be so hard on myself for my past & how things have turned out in my life & for my children's lives. I know God is in control of everything & I Trust him wholeheartedly ... And I also know I will see the day when I can have all 4 of my children in my presence & eventually see my grandbabies as well .. I will never ever doubt the hands of God & Miracles He Performs .. I Trust His Divine Timing & his love for Me & My Children .. . ...........
There were definitely signs in this movie that comforted me to know that God sees me & loves me dearly. . A Blessing in Disguise .. You know who you all are ... Thank You for the gift of seeing humanity thru films & in real life situations .. A Grateful Woman Here & It Literally Takes A Village To Raise Us All ... God Bless ...🤗❤️🙏

THE SECOND SHE TURNS 18 SHE SHOULD PACK HER S*** GO STRAIGHT TO COLLEGE AND GET AWAY FROM HER MOTHER....I have been Been homeless several times...never taight kids to steal, prostitute, lie, drink alcohol l, smoke 😢 cigarettes .... And yes that child should have went to children's services which was far better than running around with somebody who clearly can't take care of her and keep making stupid bad decisions..... Sad story but no you do not get to drag children along in your mess 🥵...get a JOB!!!

Moral of the story - if you get behind on your mortgage payment don't do anything - don't look for a better job or a second job - just a better man to live off of. Right?

Unrealistic. Characters had no depth, with the exception of Pam. I cannot believe the daughter wouldn’t hate her mom for putting her through all that her entire life….

Loved the movie, bravo to ALL the actors! However, what happy ending? Moving in with a guy she met in AA when they were both new in sobriety? OMG!! Speaking from 40 years of continuous sobriety in AA - ladies get some sobriety first, learn who you are AND how to stand on your own two feet!! "Two flakes make a blizzard" as we say in AA. Love to all of us amazing survivors, women and moms with a heart of gold!! ❤
