i mean, you could prepare dogs better with vests and spiked collars. just saying.
Ответитьthis is just great.
ОтветитьBeautiful place beautiful collies
ОтветитьThese must be basque people
Ответитьreplacing cows and sheep with bison is a much simpler land use management strategy . *less government*, less government shooting, trapping and poisoning of predators and disruption of stream banks. these ranchers are anti government until it comes to free access to our public land. images of these dogs are being used to put lipstick on a pig. sheep and cows should be on private land, like all private property - take them home at night.
Ответитьdogs must be free!! not to work!!!
ОтветитьCongratulation for this amazing informative video. I would love to visit some of tthese farms in Wyoming. LOVE, LIVE, LEARN n LAUGH MAC from Brazil.
ОтветитьThose are breed born in my country. The brown one we called "Kangal shepherd dog" other white one we them "Akbas shepherd dog". I am suprısed about this topic couse I heard the strory American researcher came on to Turkey and they was reseached our shepherd dog breed and than take a lot of animal for production. I am watching they are doing this with the succes. Congratulations all my heart.
ОтветитьI have a border collie Sheppard mix. Large backyard and 3 cats. She's 8 months old and I feel bad because I can't keep up. She refuses to walk on a leash but I'm home all day, and I let her in and out dozens of times a day. Lol. People I got Her from were just going to tie her to a trailer and use her for breeding. I feel blessed but bad because I realize how beautiful these dogs are when they have a purpose. Definitely not apartment dogs. Brilliant but chew monsters.
ОтветитьWhat do you feed the dogs and how much?
ОтветитьPlease. Don't mention politics. This is about dogs...
ОтветитьNo spiked collars for the dogs?
ОтветитьI saw a total of FIVE Australian shepherd dogs jump on a ranchers ATV and ride off. The rancher was driving.
ОтветитьI've never seen a sadder looking dog? I am a dog professional and have worked with over 900 dogs. The dog on the main images does not look at all happy. So very sad
ОтветитьWhat a great program.
ОтветитьUm, so when do they get to the fork?
Someone should take a step back and re-read that title a few times. Maybe aloud to some actual other humans. You know, to make sure it's a good one.
If we can free the slaves, why can’t we free these dogs? They are no t paid and are made to work just to eat. Why just stop slavery with people? We should stop slavery altogether.
ОтветитьUnderstanding the introduction of Canadian Northern tundra wolves into what once was Timberwolf habitat is not going to work. The Canadian subspecies is bigger and more aggressive than those they’re meant to emulate.
ОтветитьWow.. these people, these dogs, their herds...and even the predators.. I bow in respect and admiration
Ответить"They know that livestock can use landscapes that are not appropriate for farming.". And decentralized livestocks create food security. This is the sustainable system for the livestock portion of our food supply, not bugs or lab created proteins.
ОтветитьThe driving people off for sheep herding was a British institution in Ireland and the colonies as a way to profit. The attribution to Communism is only true after the success by the capitalists.
Ответить"The Soviet Union bulldozed towns to bave better control of people" 😂 Please don't believe these fairy tales
ОтветитьI border collies sono creature fantastiche e sono grandi compagni di vita, una volta entrato nella tua vita è impossibile non innamorarsene,la mia Dolly per 12 anni è stata la passione della vita, unica incredibile, indimenticabile.
Ответить? How the heck did communist factor into this. Cra cra
ОтветитьDo not own a working dog unless you can give him a job every day. If he is a working dog he cannot respect himself laying around in your lap or being cuddled like he was a puppy. If you don't have any sheep or goats for him to work, you may bring a half alive mouse to you or a stick.... Those are gifts that show he is w as a pet orking so throw the stick and tell him to go get it and bring it back. He can lay down in rest he deserves and feel that he has worked today. If you can't do these kinds of interactions, do not have that kind of dog. Get the breed that was bred to be a lapdog. Not an attack fighter. Not one bread to chase down deer. And not one bread to dig animals out of the dirt even if it's under your fence. Before you bond with the dog select a breed that is right for you and one that you can serve as pack leader instead of confusing the poor beast.
ОтветитьI found this video very interesting thanks. I understand your position on breeding
ОтветитьNazi genetics on a beloved animal is all I hear. How easily you talk about genetic manipulation for your benefit. Sick.
ОтветитьShepperd dogs are the best!
ОтветитьFarm to Fork sound like they eat the Dog!
ОтветитьI don't understand why to loose a guarding dog instead of just shoot a wolf or two, or a coyote..
I know there's a law, but this is big business , not some blokes shooting random animals.
If someone can explain me, why isn't allowed to carry a gun, it may be just a warning shot, less global biodiversity damage than letting your working dogs fight to eventual death ..?
Thank you, PBS, for this piece of political propaganda.
ОтветитьBRAVO! WONDERFUL!
Ответитьnot lazy but not super ambitious either
ОтветитьI bet none of them dogs are properly took care of
ОтветитьBeautiful to see these dogs and ranchers treating their herds with respect. This is sadly so rare. Most cattle never see the light of day on a regular basis, nor do they get to graze and eat grass as they were meant to.
ОтветитьSheep / goats (coyotes): Border Collie. Cattle (wolves): Anatolian Shepherd.
ОтветитьNever ever give to PBS, they are woke. Absolutely worse than bud light
ОтветитьWhy are sheep always forced to be in a running action? Why can’t they be walking? Why do they always have to be forced into running?
ОтветитьMy friend, a working-dog trainer, moved to Wyoming. I asked if she was busy training farm dogs. "Hell, no," she said, "The ranchers train their kids to train dogs, and the young dogs learn from the older dogs, the ranchers and the ranchers' kids. There's no room for me in the process."
ОтветитьWonderful, educational documentary...Thanks for this
ОтветитьI'm curious. When a person has livestock guardian dogs out protecting the livestock and you want to use a herding dog to gather the herd/flock/whatever inorder to move them to a different location or get them to the barn for the night or for whatever reason you need to use the herding dog, do you have to lock up the livestock guardian dog or somehow remove them from the situation? Does the LGD view the herding dog as a threat to the livestock he's there protecting? Or does the LGD understand that the herding dog is there to do a job and not actually trying to hunt the livestock or hurt them?
ОтветитьIn Scotland, the dog is not allowed to be between you and the sheep bc they must always see that the sheep come to you. So the collies can never cross that line and have to go back around the sheep.
Ответитьso interested video so many animals there. love animals.
ОтветитьDid they mean the border collies also start fights with the coyotes?
Ответитьexcellent content.very informative.Interesting. Good interviews
ОтветитьIn Australia, they'd have Australian Heeler (Blue Heeler/Red Heeler) dogs for working cattle (they're called 'Cattle Dogs'). And Border Collies and Kelpies generally used for sheep herding. They're incredibly intelligent dogs who love working and can work all day.
ОтветитьI want one my current dog is great but lazy as neck lol
ОтветитьHave you tried the hunt away from New Zealand? Also a herding barking dog, hound border Collie cross.
Ответить
