It was THE fair play moment of Matchday 12. Freiburg were trailing 2-0 at home to Frankfurt when Vincenzo Grifo went down in the Eintracht penalty area - but as soon as he got up he indicated that ""no, that wasn't a penalty""! A terrific gesture by Freiburg's midfield maestro and a magnificent example of fair play in the Bundesliga - which was also appreciated by Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner.

What sportsmanship? he dived to the ground and then remembered that they have VAR, it would have been over turned and he would have been booked... all he did was save himself.

Fair play??! Tries to manipulate contact from the defender, messes that up, throws a rubbish dive, realises he can't get away with it because we now have VAR, then cleverly avoids a yellow card by confusing the ref & causing a scene by playing the honourable sportsman...? 🧐

VAR would have overruled it anyway. He was just avoiding a booking for diving. Good on him

I'll say the same thing I said last time an incident like this was shared.
"Fair play" would have been to not dive, looking for a penalty, in the first place.
