To be fair, German politicians and news paper people are pretty opinionated about US politics also, and not always in a very fair manner. The major difference is that their comments about the US don't tend to become known outside the country very often.

What Musk thinks is irrelevant to Germans. The main reason why AfD is so popular in Germany is because most Germans don't want to be killed by Russians.

I hope you are right about the AfD and they won't raise to power, some of my fellow Germans do fall for them - they are quite popular with the masses- as if history repeats itself. They are seen as dangerous and it is called into question if they are even constitutional or democratic, thus Germany is discussing a ban of them entirely, like done before with the KPD (communist party) and SRP (direct sucessor party of the NSDAP).
