ОтветитьThanks for sharing this Sam, I definitely need to start adopting this way of thinking. <3
ОтветитьYou're awesome Sam, thank you!
Ответитьyou're my favorite artist .thank you for your information 🤠
ОтветитьSo… performance anxiety?
ОтветитьYou DON'T KNOW how much I never thought about this, you just got rid of my perfectionism 😭
ОтветитьI just realised its a mirror on the right side haha, thought you have a villa by the sea or something Sam haha
ОтветитьI am struggling so bad. I make a drawing, I had fun making it, leave for lunch and coming back to see a bad drawing... My eyes telling my brain something is wrong but I can't come up with a solution... then when I am really proud of one of my art I upload them and get 0 likes :=( I spent hours doing them now I am really disappointed in my art and myself I am even considering quitting art. I want to draw in many art styles but I have no fun drawing in other styles. I mean I can draw anime, semi realistic but then I get stressed: People won't like that I draw in many styles and I am right,...0 likes :( My art insta is 2 years old with 25 followers :( It is really demotivating
Ответитьlol
ОтветитьI really needed to hear this, I've been so caught up with trying to make my drawings look good over... nearly all my life, and I'm just starting to realize that no matter how many likes or people liking what I make is going to make me keep going. Conversely, people being negative shouldn't detract from doing what I love.
When I just let go of expectations and draw, those turn out to be the coolest drawings I do. So, thanks for this!
For any authors out there: this advice also works for writing! Just get out there and be creative!
sux video
ОтветитьThis is true. The artwork that I’ve done where I didn’t expect anything from it became the best pieces I’ve done at that period of time.
Ответитьthe fact I came here for therapy 💀, pleaseee I love his yap sections 😭
Ответитьyh I found this when learning to develop games that I never got to the master point and when I just started learning more for fun and stuff like that while still keeping my goals in the back of my mind I enjoyed game development and the process of learning all of the things so much more fun and it also wasn't as daunting anymore
ОтветитьThat first part was to damn relatable
Ответитьi guess im clinically insane (positive)
ОтветитьIt helps a lot thnks, art is a way of life ✨
Ответитьthanks, needed to hear this pretty damn much
ОтветитьI truly needed to hear this. thank you.
ОтветитьThis video meant a lot to me. I want to be more consistent with my art. I want to get better but it can be so challenging when everything is not clicking. Thank you for making this video, it is helping me reset
ОтветитьI really appreciate how Sam cares about his 'Art Babies' so much that he even keeps his voice quiet, and not too obnoxious.
ОтветитьYeah, that's why I don't have a sketchbook. I need cheap paper with this ring binding thingy, whatever it's called in english. It has to look like crap. I need to hate it😂so I don't care and just fill pages. And always the cheapest pencil. Ikea pencil style. It's gone anyway so fast.
ОтветитьI LOVE YOU SAM!!!
ОтветитьMy lecturer used to walk around during a drawing session and say “Ooouuu…” occasionally laughing walk away then come back and help you out.
ОтветитьI LOVE YOU SAM!!!
ОтветитьThat's why i stopped posting my paints on instagram, i just can't do it without expetaction and pressure
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video. I'm 31 years old and both social media and mental health struggles have taken their toll on my creativity. As a teen I'd still be willing to give my drawings a go but at some point I stopped creating art completely for years. Not because I stopped wanting to create but because I was too scared and overwhelmed to do it. Then I started photography and it was going well cause it's more forgiving. But once I started uploading to IG and hoping ppl would like it, it became less and less fun and I started realizing I was making photos JUST for IG. I'm trying to change that mentality and I've also slowly begun picking up art again. This video helped me see it's not a unique struggle but it feels good to see someone put it into words. I will definitely try to create just for fun, rather than expectations of what others may like or what will give me more likes online. And embrace imperfections a bit more too. x Nina
ОтветитьOH MY GOD you're so right (yeah that's it). No really, thank you for your videos they are helping a lot <3
Ответитьthanks
ОтветитьThank you, for curing me of my month lasting art block.
Ответить[insert hateful and mean comment here/j]
ОтветитьI feel this so much, whenever I just let go and not give a f my art is so good
ОтветитьBest Sam video ever
ОтветитьThis makes me want to have my own personal art glow up and revive it again so I don’t be awful again
ОтветитьI had that problem until I left Instagram :3
ОтветитьSamDoesRun content coming soon
ОтветитьThank you, your lesson helps me trying again
Ответитьguess I'm clinically insane😩
Ответить🙋♂️I have a question! I want to start an business where I pay people to make art, how should I approach this artists? How would approach you if I paid you to make art for a story? 🤔
ОтветитьThis actually helped so much. Thanks sam! ❤
ОтветитьI actually have a really hard time with confidence in making art because i worry it will go wrong and when it does go wrong i feel bad. I just wish i knew how to turn off that voice and stop having those expectations, because even though i do it at first it comes creeping back to me. Either way as an “art baby” myself this was very helpful to hear so thanks Sam :)
ОтветитьIt's always on the regular lined notebook paper
ОтветитьI do NOT have enough skill to like any of my drawings
Ответитьfor some time I had been playing with AI art generators

i just found out abt sam and not gonna lie i needed ALOT of help but now IVE ACTUALLY GOTTEN BETTER!!! p.s. thanks sam
