Wow, what a conversion you two did! More blurring of strict lines between road touring to all-road travel but with very classic bikes and style. I especially loved Ms. Cools hardware store clamps and Engineer Henry tent poles.
ОтветитьThese bikes look so cool. The attachment of Outpostcages or Anythingcages is always an optical violation to such a bike but better than a Tubus lowrider or something like that. The tent solution is ingenius. Do the Birkenstock-Slippers have SPD system?
ОтветитьThe base weight of my backpack is 12lbs. Ive thought that with light racks, my bikepacking set up could be pretty close to that weight.
ОтветитьLove the setup, great job guys.
ОтветитьI can see someone coming up with a new system of rando bag with an internal frame that fastens to the eyelet of the fork. It would have built in compression straps and the low hanging part would be suspended by a saddle type brace going over the front rack. Bonne route!
ОтветитьLove the look of bikepack/rando setup look on classic looking bikes with that full fender. Jelly of the style of these. Good job! Make me wish VO offered fenders for 26"+ tires. Suppose I could try to modify balloon fenders to fit on mine. Tho I do have to use racks on mine cause the chihuahua rides in the back and not getting rid of her.
ОтветитьCurios question, Why you are not using a rear pannier with a dry bag ? (mounted on top of pannier, not sides) instead of seat post bag. wanted to know the reason.
ОтветитьBIKEPACKING !!!! a new path to develop, going far beyond gear.
Ответитьgreat solution for the front fork-just curious, what kind of clamp did you end up using? It seemed to work perfectly.
Ответитьwhat's your handlebar width?
Ответитьvery nice job. Love the tentpole replacement. I will have to see if i can replace my old fiberglass poles with a set that breaks down smaller.
ОтветитьI own a bike with tubus front lowrider rack and rear cargo at 2. 6 lbs total, with minimalist/narrower packs capable of holding food/gear for up to a 5 day ride without resupplying...and the load remains lower center of gravity/safer than bikebacking setups. Interesting marketing ploy ($$$) by the biking industry as a whole.
ОтветитьThx
ОтветитьSo the if you have only one bolt on each fork leg like Ms Cools, could you run both the anything cage and your rando rack at the same time? Or would the extra bolt length and heavier weight stress the boss too much?
ОтветитьI love seeing the different ways that people approach packing their camping gear. I’m running a rando rack up front with a Velo Orange Transporteur bag with a Carradice Camper Longflap on the back. Gives me about 50 litres of space with no panniers. Great idea with your stuff sacks attached to the sides of your rando rack.
ОтветитьGreat video, can't wait for the trip. Great idea, with the tent poles. I need to do the same, but my poles are flexi fiberglass , I think. KB
ОтветитьGreat looking setup. I’m totally jealous.
I couldn’t do it here in the west of Scotland though because of all the bloody rain. I sometimes think I’d be better off with scuba mask and snorkel instead of a cycling helmet.
Nice improvements. That's one of the things I like about bike touring is the constant changes/improvements you make to your gear.
Used clamps like that on my 520 since I also have only one eyelet on the front fork. Thanks for the video and looking forward to the next one. Take care, Al
Good video....what frame bag is Ms. Cools using? Ty
ОтветитьI am looking for a collapsible seatpost bag. What are you using? Do you like?
Ответитьgreat video! i like racks. what can i say? -- im lazy. it's easy to just slam stuff to the rack. ms. cools once again crushing it with her cuteness -- speaking of which, have you seen igor and adrian on the guac-bike, over at Velo Orange??....
ОтветитьToo bad you didn't ask John to add an extra brazeon on her fork.
ОтветитьAlways listen to Ms Cools her cool senses are leading her set up in the right direction
Now lets see Ms Cools in action in the wild open spaces.
I'm completely in love with those bikes. They're gorgeous. I have a couple of steel bikes with friction shifters and there's definitely something about them. Great video guys. JP the old guy
ОтветитьIs the frame bag going to interfere with Ms Cools shifting?
ОтветитьGreat looking setup! I'm switching a vaya to down tube shifters soon. I love how hey look on your bike so I'm excited to get then setup on mine. Enjoy your new touring setups!
ОтветитьHave a good trip, enjoy the freedom!
ОтветитьYour setups are awesome! The girlfriend and I are going to bikepack a rail trail we frequent on. There is a campground at one end of it. So in two days, it'll be about 100 miles. I want my bike setup to basically be like yours and Ms. Cools'. Great video!
ОтветитьGlad to hear someone speak of tent-pole length, which we cyclist get! What is your front rack?
Ответитьawesomeness Less is More 🤙🚲
Ответитьyeah! 🔥
ОтветитьThe cable clamps for the fork racks, great choice!
ОтветитьBonjour chers amis cyclotouristes...
Toujours très intéressantes vos vidéos...
Quel rétroviseur utilisez-vous ? Est-il satisfaisant ?
Merci beaucoup pour votre réponse et bonne continuation sur les routes et les chemins.
Serge
I Was a bit late to the party (video). Nice touch with the map and narration! Once again, the routes you two pick are always picturesque! Beautiful.
ОтветитьI love the new setup. Nice and light. Happy trails.
