I think the best thing to happen now is that us as fans have had someone we wanted to work so much and we backed the new organisation so much that we had our hopes up temporarily. Now, we will not put that much pressure on ourselves and the team knowing that it will 100% take time. This will mean the expectation will creep up and not hit everyone in the face like it has in the past. Take a breath guys, let’s see if there is progression and let’s assume it’s going to be slow.

Far too much talk about style and tactics, until you get the players who can play it there’s no point talking about it. A new manager needs to work out these players and try to get more out of them.

If Manchester United fans (still) loved Ten Hag, then make no mistakes... they'll love Rúben Amorim much much more. I can assure you that. Rúben talks football and strategy like Rangnick did. He is direct with his arguments and a great character with a very good personality. Ten Hag can be a great coach, but he lacked a lot of that. Not to mention communicational skills and empathy. Rúben has it all. This is a great signing for Man Utd. I'm 42, a Sporting Lisbon supporter and Man United fan, since a young age. And by the way, i am also a Mourinho fan, which i consider to be the right person at the wrong time in United. I'm very excited with this signing by Manchester United, but really gutted and sad for Sporting Lisbon. I have never seen a person who united the club, the fans, who is respected even by the opposition, as much as Amorim did. And he did it with his personality, his intelligence to manage the team, how he worked their mentality to play together... he basically created a big family at Sporting Lisbon. The board allowed him to do that by supporting him. Which is important to notice, because we all know with United hasn't always been the case for a long time. I am truly and really very, very sad for Sporting Lisbon, because without Amorim, the good stability of the club now is uncertain, in terms on how the players will react with his absence and without his guidance and leadership on the field and in the training ground. He was the glue between everyone. But at least i can be assured that, i will still be able to see and enjoy "my" manager Rúben leading my other team, in Manchester United. And i am 100% sure all the United fans will as well.

Amorim has a proven track record of tactical flexibility. But that doesn't mean he is ready to compromise on his tactics. Liverpool gave up their pursuit of Amorim for this exactly reason. However, the tactics he is so insistent on fits very well with our squad. ten Hag was a mismatch for this squad, and mixed with his lack of adaptability, the relationship ended, leaving us in a very bad place. ten Hag would be miles better in Man City. Amorim is the right man imo.

Amorim's main trait is transitional football.

Ten Hag also had a huge reputation before coming to united. Goodluck turning Marcus Rashford into an intense player, Eriksen and Casemiro do not have the legs to be intense.

Mark my words... this man if apointed will fail... possibly worse than Ten Hag... When you are doing open heart surgery what do you do? Do you sign a guy who has never done this before and has just seen it from afar or you do you bring in the best in class somebody who's proven he can do it over and over again with extreme surgical precision? Sign the special one with full backing.

All these stats are amazing; I just wonder if we have the personnel to be tactically capable of playing his system and play.

The only manager in the world that you can unequivocally say is better than Ten Hag is Guardiola. This is a lateral move that resets a lot of progress. The only hope is that the personality might vibe more or that the fans actually give the manager a bit of breathing room because he is new. Honestly how we managed another top flight manager I am not sure. There is a 90% chance he receives the exact same press and treatment and that his options for the next position will be slimmer. Also Sporting is a better club than us. Worse team and way more demanding fan base. I’m not sure why he is even considering it.
