Why You Should Play Elex in 2021

I finally decided to start playing this game.
I'm only an hour and a half in, nd this game has already surpassed my low expectations I've had for this title.

I briefly played the Elex 2 trial on Playstation.. I figured it was time I start playing through the original.

honestly the terrain looks so unbelievably terrible. Embarrassing for industry veterans to release something like this

I started playing this without knowing anything about it and I was like damn I feel like I'm playing Gothic. Now I know why.

You shouldn't play Elex. It's garbage.

You don't play melee on elex you play with goddamn plasma rifles!

Poor or weird combat is one of the staples of Piranha Bytes
I pretty much expect it of their games and somehow it doesn't lower the quality of my experience xd

Just started playing Elex for a 2nd time. I RE-Discovered gaming during covid..

I never heard of this game before. Looks awesome! Reminds me a lot of how Everquest worked. I'm sick of games where you can go anywhere and kill just about anything from the very beginning. Plus it's pretty cheap. It does play on Series X, yes?

Never played a Piranha Bytes game before. Should i start with Elex 1 or 2 ? Thanks.

I played the game 9 month ago in german, as I am german. However, I decided to replay the game and changed the voice to english, as someone told me that tvis would give an extra replay experience. He was right. The english dialogue is much better and smoother and also fits most of the situations much better than the german one, even though the pitch and sound of the german voice of the main character Jax fits better. Just listen to the dialogues with f.e. Rainer or Irdur in both languages.

2022 and I just started playing it seriously, it's hard to stay at it at the beginning, cause you don't get powerfull. But after a while it gets really nice

Very detailed and very good RPG. first hour it's feel unpolished, but after playing some time, game opening and become good. i love npc and world detail specially. They crafted amazing game world. Game feel rough first moments but actually very good game. Big budget and polished Piranha bytes game will be amazing. They have talent. My personal rating: 10/7.5 Very good game and you should play!

Elex 1 is soo much better than crap elex 2

I love ELEX the same way I love the Elder Scrolls.
Mid gameplay but settings and lore that immerses you. (The ES story on the other hand...)

I tried man but gd the characters talk on and on it’s like talking to my dad just a whole lot of nothing for hours

I'm playing the first one cause I have OS Extra right now. It reminds me of the best RPGs of my youth. I find charm in every aspect of this game so far, even in the jank. Probably going to get the 2nd one soon. 👍

I think I played this... no wait it was a game that was almost identical, and probably free. I only played it once.

I replayed Elex 3-4 months ago, like rly replayed, played as every faction and diffrent builds on each faction. It's rly not that hard game. Just play it like Gothic 1, avoid combat at the start and join faction as soon as possible

Great video. I ignored this game for a long time. I thought it would be just another generic RPG. Boring. Many years later, I’ve decided to try games I think my younger self would look at and immediately ignore. And let me tell you, this game is just what I needed since I’m heavy into roguelike/lites at the moment. The slow paced, dialogue heavy, sometimes tedious RPG. I haven’t played it for long yet but Magalon is growing on me. Playing this is actually making me want to get into PB’s other games. Think I’ll start with Gothic and just play em all in order. The one thing I wish for though is character creation. It would make the game near perfect imho

I've never played the ELEX games, when it comes to Piranha Bytes I have only played Gothic 1-3, and Risen 1 & 2 (I did play a little bit of Risen 3 but not really enough to come to a concise conclusion on how I feel about the game.

I wish they improve the combat system, i like piranha bytes games and i played every games but I can't understand why combat is troublesome in every game by doing such good things in every game, in such a disgraceful state. these guys need to screw everything up and fix this combat then they can be a big hit

Elex 1 is the most breathtakingly beautiful and insanely addictive game ever made.

Bought this yesterday for under 15 bucks and I really like it. Reviews on the Xbox store by other peeps said it was like Fallout+Dragon age, I bought it instantly 😅 And I like it

Once you get the hang of it, it's honestly very fun!

I prefer Elex over Elex 2. After finishing Elex 2 I restarted Elex 1.

Elex 1 is worth playing but Elex 2 not. Not now not ever.

Its funny that you said "completlly open world without loading screens is nothing amazing for today(2021) standards" but there is 2024 and games with fully open world you can count on one hand.

I simply can NOT play a pre-determined hero with a name, a back story etc. Thats not an RPG for me because where is the role if I get a pre made person to just control?

I got this game and the 2nd one for 24$, it was hard to get into at first but I’m really enjoying the game now and leveling up

Highly recommend it over the 2nd Elex. Elex 2 is so much worse except minor improvements in combat

Combat in this game is a huge improvement over Gothic 1/2. I tried playing Risen 1 but that was around the time Elex 1 came out and I dropped Risen because the world of Elex appealed to me way more. I am currently playing Elex 2 after picking it up on sale finally. I think Elex 1 is superior in every way to 2, aside from the factions in 2. It's sad that PB got axed, but I hope Bjorn and Jenny make some more bangers at their new studio, Pithead.
