Is there a 'J' system that would work on a Yakima rack (F350) enabling me to carry 2 Kilroys on their sides?

Picking up my Aurora Kilroy OG tomorrow. The Feral One is the best, thanks so much for your enthusiasm and opinions.

what Class whitewater would you comfortably recommend this boat for? Is it likely to get swamped in Class II wave trains? Looking for something lighter than my Coosa HD, thanks!

Hi Chris! Great review! The reduced amount of interior rod storage isn’t a deal breaker for me, but leaving out the hard deck truly is. To me, it’s one of the best features. I was ready to buy and when I found out it wasn’t included, I thought no problem. I’ll just pay extra and buy it from Jackson as an accessory. Nope! They no longer sell them. Not even a soft deck! I know you’ve mentioned that it got it your way but for myself and many other OG Kilroy owners, that’s not the case. I still have my 2016 and really want to pull the trigger!on the 2022, but I think Jackson dropped the ball on this one. Finding a used deck is all but impossible.

I wish they would bring back the original cuda 12 for a limited run as well. I bet they would sell, kayaks are getting to heavy and wide, nothing like the og kilroy and cuda.

Love you videos and one of the reasons I have a Kilroy when you rooftop yours on a trip do you haul upside down or upright with the seat in it thanks

Did it come with the removable hard deck like the original,...jackson's website description says it does but none of the pics show it. Thanks for the help.

Still paddle a Kilroy as my primary boat. Love it and will never give it up. Might buy another one while I can for when I eventually destroy my current one. The rod storage never worked for me. It absolutely munched my two favorite 9' fly rods. Snapped the tips right off and they were not delicate rods (6 and 8wt Redington CPX). I still use the right side for shorter/fiberglass rods, but I took the tubes out of the left side and use the holes and rod mounts to store my spare paddle inside the hull. The biggest bummer here is that they nixed the dashboard. I've rigged out my dashboard to seamlessly integrate my sonar into the boat, and I think it's one of the most useful and easy to modify features of the Kilroy. I do like that they went to the aluminum top-loading gear tracks. I really wish they would have gone to a trimmable seat like they did in the Kilroy DT and HD. That is the biggest Achilles heel of the original Kilroy. It has enough weight capacity for me and my 75 lb lab to paddle together, but the inability to trim the seat means that the bow dives down too far, displaces too much water, and causes the kayak to track extremely poor. Implementing this new seating system instead of a trimmable seat is a huge missed opportunity.

Despite the nit-picky gripes I have, I still love this boat. Long live the Kilroy!

Does it still paddle and stand the same as the OG?

I looked everywhere last year for a Kilroy but had to settle on the Yupik. If I get into better straits I'm going to get one for sure. Good stuff man

I really appreciate the honesty of all your reviews. As I’ve mentioned before, it was your review of the BigRig that helped me decide to get one. I bought a 2019 OG model new and absolutely love it. Thank you again 👍🏻.
