Stray and throwaway cats & kittens always have the saddest eyes. At the peak, placed close to 50 over a 5 year period that were thrown from cars driving by, or tossed away by people nearby, to my barn. Shelters are overflowing, too. Hope you left some water for them. ❤

if you are still in hawai'i, stray cats are incredibly common here. it's warm year round which means they are constantly mating, and they're able to find food easily because of the amount of birds here. local shelters do their best to curb that by picking up strays and at the very least neutering/spaying them before releasing if they can't take them in (we have a lot of feral cat colonies), hence why so many have a clipped ear. my own cat was a result of a stray who hadn't been neutured & had a litter who was abandoned. growing up my grandma would take us to iao valley & we would feed the cats there. there is also a wild cat colony that lives on the campus at uh manōa & at night they all gather in one of the parking lots, just a massive group of cats hanging out :'o)
