Im pretty scared for my court in december; back in march i ended up a few hours away to a party, yk what happened well i ended up driving home for work in the morning and it was pitch black and i didnt know my way around. I ended up going the wrong way because i couldnt see and directions told me to just turn left. i realized almost right away and it was either go head first into an upcoming car or turn and stop in a ditch so i did. I got stuck because it was quite muddy and went to jail for 12 hrs before getting bailed. im not planning to get a lawyer or attorney but i dont know what to say or do. i have a clean record besides that and im 18 and was 18 during the arrest. still no license or anything. i was an idiot and told the cop i had been drinking earlier that night, went to sleep and woke up to leave for work early. im not sure wether to plead guilty or not guilty.

I’m in my 30s, been driving since 16, got a few tickets for traffic violations, never got a DUI. I’m watching this out of curiosity while drinking 😂

In Canada could you still get a DUI even if you didnt take a breathalyzer test?

Never consent to a sobriety test if you know you’ve been drinking. Never.

Also, answer questions to police minimally and definitely DONT ADMIT THAT YOU WERE DRINKING! NOT EVEN ONE DRINK!

They will try to trick you and they will keep badgering you for answers.

You don’t have to explain WHY you won’t take the test and if they ask just tell them “Because I don’t” or simply “Because”.

If they keep prodding for an answer just tell them you’re not answering anymore questions regarding the sobriety test and you need an attorney present for any further questioning.

Say as little as possible to the police and if they arrest you don’t sweat it.

If you said as little as possible and don’t consent to testing there’s about a 95% your lawyer will get you a MUCH better outcome than if you had submitted to the testing.

If a cop says something like “Things will work out better if you’re just honest with me.” He’s 1000% bluffing so don’t fall for it.

I just got hit last night first dui I blew a 0.145 I felt fine truly this video made me feel a little better I make 15$ and hour and I don’t know if I can pay this whatever they give me I’m scared I’m rattled I just pray they help me and god is listening I’ve learned my lesson

AN UPDATE PLEASE, APRIL 2024

Got my first dui at 21 right before my birthday. I hit two cars parked with one lady being inside. I never thought I’d be in a situation like this. I’m just very thankful that I’m okay and no one was injured. It sucks, I totaled my car that lasted me a year, the lady inside the vehicle is now getting a lawyer on me. I got myself a lawyer also which wasn’t cheap for me. I’m wishing for the best as my court case is next month. Don’t drink and drive as this was a big loss and lesson learned. This what I call a setback for a major comeback stay positive and be grateful for health and loved ones!!!

Just got booked last night for one. I blew a .085 it’s tough that I was so close to the legal limit and still got charged. Learning lesson, I guess we will see how court goes.

DUI are not just for drinking alcohol or using drugs,but also medicine 💊.. so explain what type of DUI please 🙏 so far the most discriminatory is an alcohol DUI...to my knowledge...You can get one even if the cops didn't stop you...you picked up your cell phone and got off the road..the next door neighbor called the police and he came and instead of checking if you need a tow truck to get you out of the rocks..he decided to give you a DUI... what a super hero 👹

Just got my first dui. What a wake up call. first car I’ve ever bought for myself/ first car ever and in less than two months totaled it because I decided to be stupid. I was already angry and had been drinking hours prior. Cops asked me what I had been doing that day and I feel they tricked me into taking a breathalyzer. Regardless waiting for the BAC results… first offense ever and nothing bad on my record so can only pray for the best. Haven’t drank alcohol since and don’t plan to. Never drink and drive.

Just recently got a dui crash. Went into a telephone pole and blew a .11. They also got marijuana in my system and in my car and I don’t have a med card. I’m in PA and I heard I should get an ARD but it’s gonna take 6 months before I’m even sentenced. So right now I set up a mental health and drug,alcohol rehab. I wasn’t out in a jail cell or anything but I think that’s because I was honest and didn’t injure myself or anybody else

About 15 years back, I ordered Chinese for me and my wife. The did not deliver and I was drinking enough that I knew I was legally drunk. I picked up our food made it almost home and came up to the stop light. I looked at my review mirror and low behold I noticed the squad car lights. Right behind me was the police. His lights were not on but the shocked of him behind me was surreal. My heart was pumping as I knew if he pulled me over I was toast. I was intoxicated and reeked of beer. This was it. I was literally terrified. I looked to my left for on coming traffic, I made sure my right signal was activated. I made my turn not knowing what was going to happen. Was he going to follow me, pull me over? As I turned I was relieved he did not follow me, but went on straight ahead. That was the last time I drove drunk. It scared me so bad I swore I would never do it again. Believe me, I used to drive a lot after drinking. Just not anymore.

Getting a DUI was a blessing in disguise with me because I was focusing on getting out of debt so I would start slowly cutting alcohol but slowly returning to it. It caused me to lose thousands of dollars. I think God put me in this battle because he knows this would be my only wake up call. I wont get jail time as its my first offense and I didnt hurt anybody. And ill be able to travel (fly out of state and still travel). I take my dad to work bevause of medical reasons so i got a restricted license. I honestly dont really miss alcohol because probation is actually allowing me to detach from it more and i dont vow to ever get drunk again and even if i have one drink after a year you dont have to worry about me getting behind any wheel. Because im not risking it. Its so embarrassing

My brother had his first DUI . Dribin 15 mph in the area close home. 700 fine, 3 days class an hour each which now he has to find the cheapest one. Lisence suspection for 1 freacking year. He can only go to work,work and home thats it. OHIO

I don’t really drink often, I just felt invincible.
I don’t even remember how I even got home.
Next thing I did the day after was checking the car to see if I hit something.
Turns out everything was fine.
I know I didn’t get pulled over, but please folks don’t drink and drive.

I just got one a couple days ago, mine might be worse bc I got pulled over bc I didn’t have up to date insurance and registration but have nothing else on my record so should I still expect to be able to use my car? I’m deciding whether or not to update my insurance, if they revoke my license it wouldn’t be worth getting new insurance now so I don’t know what to do

I got my first one like 3 days ago and I’m scared shitless, people are right getting your dui, you dont wanna drink smell or taste alcohol at all.. it’s made me rethink a lot and alcohol is turning my life upside down.. I just need to stop completely.
