Calculate Projectile Range Along an Angled Surface | Kinematics | Physics

How far will a projectile travel down a hillside? Typically when first learning about projectile motion, the object lands either on a horizontal or vertical surface. In this problem we take a look at how to handle a situation where a projectile lands on an incline.

The key in the problem is relating the horizontal and vertical displacements to the tangent of the hill angle.

This problem commonly comes up in introductory physics courses including high school physics, AP Physics 1, AP Physics C, and introductory college physics courses.
