http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYuQw4IYlEA (this is a link to the wing shape) I stop and start the wings in winds gusting to10mph to show the starting power of the wings. they are running on a usvawt boreas alt and the power is going into a usvawt voltage limiter and I am shorting out the dc output leads to stop the wings. this directly shorts out all three phases and you can see how long it takes to slow down. you can see why these wings reach speed faster than anything tested on Steves sims in the wing tests on the windgen org vawt site. I designed these wings to have a lift pulling the wing forward rather than up and this not only gives them excellent power but also low pole stress because the wind quickly gets turned to rotation. on the one wing you will see some vortex inducers that I am experimenting with to keep the wing out of stall. The unit is 48" tall and 42" diameter and I have tweaked the alt a bit to increase power after I got it by closing up the gap on the mags which should stall it out easier but the wings still push it.
