Gearbox is busted.
ОтветитьWhat a great entertainer, when I'm feeling down listening to George Formby songs never fails to put a smile back on my face!
ОтветитьI thought he was about to break in to Kiss by Prince
ОтветитьDo anyone know wich band playing behind Formby? BBC dance orchestra or just an all star band?
ОтветитьDa da da da da da da da.
Ответитьthe covid-19 put an end to his fresh bat business...
ОтветитьI think Garry Marsh is the only person I've heard pronounce Vacuum correctly !
ОтветитьI don't care if he's a vacu-yum cleaner.
ОтветитьMy favourite :)
ОтветитьI'm a middle-aged Chinese guy and don't find this song racist as it isn't derogatory.
It is just a funny enjoyable song about a Chinese window cleaner.
George Formby is the business. I have a ukulele of my own.
ОтветитьBlimey, that's 1400 a week now.
ОтветитьMum and dad loved George Formby during the 2nd world war he was fun.
ОтветитьLove these. Takes me back to times when I used to listen to George Formby with my dad.
ОтветитьJames Herriot's Dog Stories brought me here just now. Watching Formby makes me feel happy.
ОтветитьOne of the skills is his use of rhythm and phrasing
ОтветитьHe was a really good comic actor. Earning huge money for these films too.
ОтветитьMore proof that the British are such handsome people.
ОтветитьImmortal the uke king. Total self deprecation with some deadpan. To anyone who thinks this is racist I disagree Formby was a well known believer in multiculturalism. And off you're willing to take the piss out of yourself then sod everyone else I say.
ОтветитьNot bad for an illiterate Jockey
ОтветитьAbsolutely…. There is historical context. The “woke” nonsense makes me nuts!
ОтветитьJohn neighbour bring me here
ОтветитьTinker Tailor Soldier Spy got me here.
ОтветитьThese songs are pretty difficult to sing. The melodies leap about all over the place. George had an excellent sense of pitch.and to play the ukelele at the same time as singing is very difficult. He was an excellent musician.
ОтветитьIt's just awesome.
ОтветитьLove the way the orchestra join in
ОтветитьHis eyesight getting better but his nose is getting flatter just awesome.
ОтветитьWhat a great song upbeat attitude please keep this music Going.
ОтветитьI was brought up on George Formby and Al Jolson. Our dad could play the uke like no one I know. Sadly dad's not with us anymore 😢 to hear this music
ОтветитьSimply a legend great uke player and his films and music puts a big smile on your face I love George 😊
ОтветитьThis cheeky bloke and his uke are absolute treasures. No question about it.
ОтветитьI know the opening lines from Big Audio Dynamite's "Dragon Town."
ОтветитьHe brought so much joy to people, especially during the Second World War. He was banned occasionally from BBC Radio due to his lyrics. It is interesting to hear him bend notes 30+ years before the late Eddy Van Halen. He also had an influence on a young physics and astronomy student who also craved a career in music. Brian May from Queen used his father’s George Formby uke banjo in 2 songs; Bring Back That Leroy Brown and Good Company.
ОтветитьGod Bless George and a great entertainer This what the Great in Britain ❤❤❤
ОтветитьAll these comments are wonderful, I've pressed the like button on all that I've read up until now, brilliant George formby, a time which seems so innocent compared to today. He was a delight as we're his films. A time lost forever, we are the poorer for that. Joyous memories. Thank you George.
ОтветитьA comic policeman. Today we've got thousands of 'em, and they're not acting!
ОтветитьExcelente 👌 ❤
ОтветитьBig Audio Dynamite brought me here …
ОтветитьI don't care if he's a vacuum cleaner 😂
ОтветитьMuch Love to me Grandad, who we sadly said goodbye to today. Used to listen to George in his car without my Grandma knowing. Had to be the last thing i listened to today.
ОтветитьOld song man 😂
ОтветитьI grew up listening to things like this. There's nothing wrong with it. It is is of its time. Why is it that modern day? British people are so down on their past? The average working class person in this country? They didn't have anything to do with empire not really. They just did their jobs every day went to the pub had a drink went home and did the same thing the following day with people like that actually entertaining them
Ответитьwhen a kid in Lancashire Eng UK nr Newton E Willows i went to local market, and found a lot of worn George records , needles were rough on records carbide drop it broke! i loved G.Formby i got my 1st uke it was plastic! big let down, the main thing was hearing George and one of his ukes, had 6 r 7 all tuned in diff keys, He was , and still best uke singer wrote many of his hits him self, the ladys loved him, so did us boys, we went to all his flicks,,,,,,good days yes, then war raging on , oky doke lets put George on , o yep!
ОтветитьI'll never play as good as George (who does?) and my Dallas E is bleedin' heavy so even playing it standing up is awkward but I'll keep it going....😂
Ответить"Do I get the job?" He certainly did, working with ENSA helping our troops during the war. Morale was so important.
Ответитьwhere are the "thats rascist" comments? I see people bitchin about them but no one actually accusing him of it
Ответить"Mr Wu," rhymes with "what shall I do?" It's no more complicated than that. There are no fake accents, no derision.
ОтветитьThis song is just perfect in every way. Real talent!
