For the people who thinks the glee version is better, well duh. That's because it is more of a pop version of the song, and you like watered down pop songs. This is an r&b version. Trust that all of these ladies that are singing in this song can slay the guy who sings this in glee vocally.

I used to love this song a lot when I was about 10yrs old, waiting for this song to come on the radio, wanting to record this on a audio tape and listen to it on my walkman on the bus on my way to school and way back home

That GLEE cover is AAAALLLLL sorts of WRONG! WTF is a dude singing that song?!?!? I thought I was going to hear one of those cute little chicas sing it! But NOOOOO, It's a DUDES CHIOR!!!

The song is not saying "Can you pay my bills? if not we can't be together" they’re saying they want a partner who is financially stable, one who can take care of her and handle their own hence why she mentioned him talking on her phone and lying about it cause he can’t pay the bill ..."you're slowly making me pay for things" if this was meant to be sexist she wouldn’t had mentioned paying for anything.

A lot of people missed the message in the song. They're saying don't ask me for money when you're not able to pay me back. I got bills to pay and that's where my money is going. If you're not capable of helping me pay my bills after I let you have money, don't ask me for any.
