Marvellous! Funny, your name Arnaud is how the Turks refer to Albanians. it's a corruption from the Greek Arvanit, which comes from some form of non-Latin rendering of Albanian = Arbanit which is a contraction of how Albanians used to call themselves: Arbëresh.

This is Serbian national instrument Gusle
ОтветитьI've never heard this instrument played in such manner, in Serbia there is a very similar instrument as you already know, but the traditional playing style has nothing to do with this, Im guessing the same goes for Albania. Very refreshing and interesting, great work from composing to video editing, Im hoping and looking forward to similar works from you

But the truth is....its all ALBANIAN. The good historians know it - bad historians are telling fairytales (even if they know the truth) 🇦🇱🇽🇰
ОтветитьSerbian instrument - GUSLE
Ответить❤ 🇦🇱 ❤
ОтветитьYou have to notice the symbol of Amalthea (a-mal-dhia) and snake (Cadmus) sailing the river of Hades on that string while singing epos for dead heroes. Well done 🇦🇱
ОтветитьI need more information on this. The high tones on this sound nothing like the lahuta/gusle. I also noticed that your string seems to be going under the bridge rather than on top of it (or is it the older style where it is drilled through?). Have you adapted the lahuta to get these smooth sounds? Maybe also changed the string? There was a famous Serbian cellist who played the gusle in this manner (and with an orchestra) in the '80s, but even his high notes had that signature warble/tremolo/scraping that this instrument is known for. This almost sounds like a rabab or one of the other eastern variants which have lost their horse-hair in exchange for steel strings. Please share more information about how you've achieved this sound.
ОтветитьPLEASE do a tutorial on how to play this beautiful instrument. I just got one and I'm realizing tutorials are nearly non existent. Please and thank you
ОтветитьThis is beautiful

Grazie

ОтветитьCool. Reminds me of Altan Urag.
ОтветитьBeautiful! It is uncommon to find someone play with such grace. Greetings from Serbia.
Ответить😂😂😂😂😂 ALBANIAN???? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ответитьthis is unheard beautifully done even though it is an Albanian instrument it sounds totally unique from what i’m used to hear
ОтветитьAbsolutely love this! I was researching gusla instrumental for a game I'm developing and this is just fantastic. I had no idea Lahuta or Gusle could be played in this gentle manner. Beautiful music!
ОтветитьArnaud - thanks for posting. Could you put something about how came to know or play this tune?
Lute is a Medieval instrument of Albanian Highlands... High Albanian Frontier Warriors saga is sang generation after generation until the modern times; like Homer's Illiad, it was passed down from father to son, no written text. There is a video of an elderly Albanian man, 94 years old, blind like Homer, chanting the Frontier Worriers and playing the lute. For highlanders lute is a sacred instrument, singing akin to calling the spirits of their ancestors.
Arnaud, where you hail from? Albanians are called "Arnaut" by the Turkish, and internally Albanians call themselves "shqipetar"... the name "shqipetar" comes from "eagle"... but the Turkish word for eagle is different (Kartal)... unless the Turkish people are using the old Germanic form "Arnau" for eagle.
