i liked it so much. very nice ! you uploaded it and my joy became double. That s also very nice picture and information.
ОтветитьGood ole Strauss! Though this piece is excellent, I felt it lacking in matching the literary dynamics of Macbeth. I think that is evident by the "lack of sonic clarity." On a random note, did anyone else catch the similarities between the opening statement and the opening statement to Beethoven's 9th symphony? (I could be uttely wrong though) Thank you so much for posting this piece!
ОтветитьVery lifting piece, makes me think i'm my husband rushing on his noble stead fighting in the civil war,I hope he comes home soon!
ОтветитьA hidden treasure among many works of R. Strauss. This tone poem should be more frequently performed and more highly estimated.
ОтветитьThat's a very light relationship. The motives are similar metrically but, since the basic material are so simple, it is unfair to compare them. I agree with you about the lack of resemblance to the narrative development of Macbeth. However, this is a great work! :)
ОтветитьI really like this piece. I didn't find the correlation with Macbeth at first either, but listening to it for a while I could hear themes that made me think of that old Scottish king, the conflict that Macbeth fights with of should I or shouldn't I comes through. I found this piece by looking for "Macbeth Oboe" because unlike most of Shaky Bill's Kings Macbeth enters to oboes and not trumpet fanfare. If anyone knows of any works that fit that please let me know.
ОтветитьBeginning sounds like first movement of Beethoven's 9th.
ОтветитьCould you please tell me the name of the painting? :) It's wonderful. :D
ОтветитьStrauss seems to be incapable of writing music I don't like. I came to him on the recommendation of Glenn Gould, and I'm glad I did.
ОтветитьAnyone know the name of the painting?
ОтветитьVery Moving!
ОтветитьSUPERBE MUSIQUE
ОтветитьGreat piece and great painting ("Macbeth") by the fascinating artist John Martin
ОтветитьGilliam's negativity quoted above is as off base as one can get. Leave it to the know-it-all critics to get it wrong! They cannot create, so all they can do is carp --- jealous pygmies snarling at the feet of titans. The narrative power of "Macbeth" can only fail to affect emotionally decrepit listeners, especially in a performance as sharply drawn as this one, no less keen than the tragic protagonist's own, bloody sword blade.
ОтветитьUgly. Can't recognize the genius I know.
ОтветитьСлишком возвышено для Макбета ...Эти кровавые персонажи не могут быть оправданы.. Вместо "хоровода ведьм" - скитания Чайльд-Гарольда
ОтветитьWith power and authority.
ОтветитьThe so-called "narrative" issue of "Macbeth" is a very minor concern and not at all important relative to how the piece stands on its own, exclusively musical merits, which are considerable. Jared Davis believes the Strauss version is "lacking in matching the literary dynamics of [Shakespeare's] Macbeth," as though comparing a twenty-minute symphonic poem to a two-hour stage play has any relevance whatsoever, and is, in any case, refuted by Zinman's exceptionally dynamic performance.
ОтветитьDavid Gillian is perhaps right or not;
Music is not for logics; But, for “ moments without words “

To me all music is Abstract Music with any associations with works of literature being totally inconsequential. I would have enjoyed this tone poem had it been referenced to King Lear or Othello or Donald Trump !! I know the story of Macbeth but please don't tell me I should have surmised that from the music. Ergo I enjoyed this piece of energetic, vigorously orchestrated music by Herr Strauss.
ОтветитьDedicated to all the ones who think that Strauss had no dark side before Salome and Elektra. Wishing to play this piece here in Perú!
ОтветитьWhat a great early work! Such sweep and ambition. Very Beethovinian in character, not just the opening. There are thread here that he didn’t pick up later, and some that blossomed more fully in later work. Very unusual piece for him. Does anyone know what the specific program is?
He was writing operas from the beginning, just that in the 12 tone poems he wasn’t using words yet!
Nice, but not even close to his masterpiece, the Alpine Symphony.
Ответитьwhat painting is this?
ОтветитьScene From 起人奇兵 Ben And Beast Boy
ОтветитьIt's not his first tone poem. That honor goes to Don Juan.
ОтветитьHow this is not in the standard repertoire is beyond me.
Ответитьfckin star war
ОтветитьI like this better than his mre famous tone poems.
Ответитьwho come here becouse Alma Deutscher ? :)
