Nice animation! And this is not so far fetched. Base Mario can really fight Super Sonic, I mean, Mario in base form fought against beings like Culex, Dreamy Bowser, Dimentio, etc. Also, in Sonic Frontiers, it is pretty much clear Super Sonic destructive capabilities is at planetary to star level at max. Mario has tanked more powerful attacks than that. In Super Mario Galaxy, Mario's body can tolerate travelling at quadrillion times the speed of light (reached the edges of the universe in seconds). In Brothership, Mario can tank the force of impacting moons around the solar system, as an example, he reached Saturn in 2 seconds, just imagine the speed force he can tank.
