ОтветитьREST IN PEACE Andy we all love you♥️♥️♥️♥️🌹
ОтветитьIt's starting to sink in. I was given my first Beatles album Let It Be, as a four year old as a Christmas present. It was in 1969 and the Beatles were still together. I didn't even know the world of music existed until the Beatles. They broke up soon after, but I had amassed several of their albums in a short time, pleading that any money or presents got to immersing myself captivated by their music. No other groups mattered, as they seemed to be on another level. The hope for ten years amongst millions, after they broke up, was that somehow they might "Get Cack and Come Together, Right Now!". Then, while waiting for the school bus in 1980, while also listening to a rock station on the radio the news flashed that John Lennon had been needlessly killed. My hopes and dreams that they might one day resume as The Beatles was dashed.
Lost for a bit, I started listening to Princeton College radio. A funny thing happened. A new sound, a "New Life" resonated through the speakers, and my ears were almost confused. There was nothing like the music I was hearing, and it had the same genius so evident to me in the Beatles. Depeche Mode had arrived to redeem the events that took place and music seemingly was saved. Then they backed it up, almost impossibly with Alan Wilder after Vince Clarks departure, (caught Vince Clark playing my Yamaha CS-80 synthesizer one day at a synth repair shop while waiting for one of his Roland rack mount synths to be repaired. He didn't like the iconic synth, as it didn't hit hard enough for him to get those plucky synth stabs :) DePeche Mode, anchored by Andy Fletcher had opened up a new genre that combined all the elements that kept synths in the back waters of music. The entire 80's was a magical time, and I opened up a nightclub dedicated to electronic music in 1989. It was a great ride and the club was in its heyday when Violator came out in 1991. There was seemingly no end to the genius that was Depeche Mode. No other band in my opinion other than the Beatles, had amassed such a catalog of amazing music to that point. When Alan Wilder Left, I think it was like history repeating itself when the Beatles up. Everybody hoped that Alan would come back. For me the music wasn't the same without him, and the synth textures and musical sensibility was never the same without him. So the same Deja Vu was seemingly at it again, with almost three decades waiting for the "New Life" to "Come Together".
With the passing of Andy Fletcher that dream now also will have to fade. Fortunately people will rediscover Depeche Mode once again as they are timeless and an institution that is the benchmark of excellence just as the Beatles are. Depeche Mode is THAT important.
So Andy, thank you for being the glue that kept things going, and being the Icon that you were.
With Andy passing, just like a molecule destabilized with heat, music will now reassemble and take on a combination that reflects the next greatest era of music. The next great ride is awaiting, and thank you Andy for passing the torch.
R.I.P Andy, A true legend right from the start in the 80's With Martin, Vince, and Dave. of Many Depeche mode songs. People are people, shake the disease, and of course Just Cant Get enough. My condolences to them all and to his wife children and Family. Andy will never be forgotten behind the keyboard with his warming smile.
ОтветитьI didn't know this
Ответитьbiological death, also known as natural death, occurs as a result of senile decline, i.e. physiological aging of the organism. the signs of aging include weight loss, deterioration of vision and hearing, weakened structure and defense functions of the skin, decrease in immunity and disorders of metabolism. 60-year-old david fletcher suffered from senile decline? wata bull....

ОтветитьOh Fletch, I’m absolutely saddened. I’m so sorry for your family - DM got me through my childhood, dark times and all the way through my adulthood. Will still always remain my fav band in the world. Listened to speak & spell when I was 12 and I was hooked, and still am.
I have every album, I’m sure Dave and Martin will carry on, just not sure it’ll ever be the same. But I won’t miss them should they decide to come to Seattle. 😢😢😢
Love y guys
Aortic Dissection, a serious defect that can't heal itself, it would be like having an aneurysm in terms of severity and if you weren't in the right place at the right time when it happened you might as well just lie down in a wooden box and wait for them to pick you up.
ОтветитьThey need to get Wilder for the upcoming tour
