Wow the Confederate flag is treason and the biggest black mark on American history.  How many blacks were killed under the Confederate flag not including the war?  How many Native Americans were killed under the American flag?  Women, children skulls crushed because the Calvary didn't want to waste bulls,  kill in the Trail of Tears forcing them to move because they wanted their land all done with the blessing of the President of the United States yet the American flag isn't considered a racist flag and genocide against Native Americans took place under it.  How many tribes were wiped out in this campaign.  I am a Proud Military veteran and to call the Confederate flag treason is beyond STUPID just like Larry King is.  research your own history first.

The American flag flew over slavery for only 4-5 years less than the confederate flag.Actually the confederate flag flew over slavery for only 4-5 years. It wasn't treason to break away from a federal government that was dominating the states.The Declaration of Independence even mentions the right to break up the United States if the government became oppressive. We simply did not believe in the strong authority of the Federal Government Plus we were showing loyalty to our states that’s why we were also fighting. The north wanted a country where there was no slavery the federal government was sovereign and that the nation was indivisible where is the south wanted a country with slavery were any state could secede meaning nations were devisable where the state governments were sovereign. In fact despite the fact that the framers never meant for you to secede since we had the bill of rights to protect us from federal tyranny Nevertheless you still could legally is the seat since there was no amendment in the Constitution stating that’s the secession was illegal. I can however see why the north didn’t want any state to secede because it would more than likely destroyed the union despite the legality of secession. Secession technically became illegal three years after the Civil War in 1868 in the 14th amendment added to the constitution. Still the framers of the constitution meant for us to stay within the union but the Republicans however we’re pushing for a session to be illegal that’s why Lincoln said what he said about secession saying that it was illegal. Lincoln was speaking from a moral standpoint. anyway secession is and has been since 1868, (as a matter fact this year 2018 makes 150 years since secession became officially illegal). Anyway I think it’s ridiculous and stupid that we should not have our confederate flag or any Confederate monuments or any thing else that is considered just because it offends people I don’t care of the confederate flag or the monuments were originally installed to oppress the rights of black people rather than honor the fallen soldiers of the confederacy people still want to honor them and they have every right to and they do not honor them despite the fact that they fought for slavery they honor of them because they were fighting for their side for their country just like the North was. I do honor the northern soldiers for what they did. They were noble just like the south in their cause. What are they going to do next tear down the cemeteries? If you’re going to do that why don’t you just play over them?
