Okay..... To say cats can't overdose on catnip is a stretch.

While no they can't die from it, it's effects alter from certain amount thresholds.

I had a cat back in highschool and he was a weird tasmanian devil (LooneyTunes not the Aussie marsupial) normally.
Get him nipped up and he became shall we say functionally stupid??

Cat was as dumb as a post normally but he was more so when high on catnip.... Cat literally tried to pick a fight with the ceiling fan 3 times in a row, after being bitch slapped across the room he gave up.
But when he had an entire package of catnip to himself...... He then went from the feline energizer bunny from hell to a catatonic, typical vegged out stoner.
Like he literally raided a gallon ziplock full of catnip in under an hour and if not for him breathing and his heart beats i thought he was dead and staring blankly at a wall

When there is catnip around I feel that cats get a superpower. It’s like they go from David Banner into the Incredible Hulkcat in just seconds.

I had 3 cats.
1- did nothing for her
2- would do it if the the 3rd cat did it
3- “Liger” was a feen from day 1! I had to take out a loan from the bank in late 2000’s just to cover his/my habits.

Catnip is harmless just like weeds for human consumption.
