How’s everything going?~ Thanks- what a amazing .
ОтветитьI've been thinking about this, but I already have so many palettes I'm not sure this will bring any benefit to my life.
ОтветитьI'd like a video of Unboxig and prove of Winston's oil or acrilycs. Do you paint with that?
ОтветитьHi Emily,
Thanks for the nice review..I was debating and your video closed the deal. Especially the attached water cup. I have seen few people on Instagram remove the water container and brush and put in another 15 half pans. One even removed the center clip and fit 15 pans instead of 12, making it a total of 28 - 30 pans..
Yes please, I would love to see that box in action...
Thanks again for this video.. 🙏🏼
Enjoy your new travel kit..
I’ve tried these paints. No where near the quality of Daniel Smith. You get what you pay for.
ОтветитьI love my Water Colours Field Box in artiste colors for my line and wash.
ОтветитьI love love love your art..... U made me not fear watercolor anymore...... You are my art influencer... If you say its good...... I will buy blindfolded...... I respect your teaching so much.... Fangirl here❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьI wanted this set so bad when I first started my watercolor journey. But when I saw it in person I realized it as not as great as it looked online. Great review though. And seeing comments saying it goes as low as $25 on amazon...I may get it just for that nostalgia hit.
ОтветитьThat price is so expensive wow... I've been using the Cotman Tubes and they're wonderful!
ОтветитьAnyone watching this, do not buy it at Michaels. It's totally not worth $60 after the 20% off coupon. Amazon has it for $20-$25, and that's about what it is worth, considering I had to switch out a couple of paints to make it a usable, set. I swapped out the white for quin rose, switched out the "cobalt" (p29+white) for pthalo blue.
Ответитьi have a second hand one of these, need to refill the pans since its prob 15 years or more old but the case is still solid and usable 😀
ОтветитьSuch great info!! Thanks for your awesome artistic perspective!!
ОтветитьOoh I really do love that little set. I really would like to see you create a piece out somewhere using this set.
ОтветитьThanks for your great video, Emily! 🌟 I have This fiield box - but bought it with Winsor Newton Artist Paints! Not Cotman...🎨 It contains: lemon yellow, cadmium yellow, yellow ochre, indian red, alizarin crimson, burnt sienna, burnt umbre, Black, white, ultramarine, winsor blue, winsor Green. 👍🌟
ОтветитьThere are two versions of this field box. The one that sells for around $25 has the Cotman colors. The one that sells for around $70 has the professional colors.
ОтветитьI've tried these too, the saturation isn't so good but if cost is a concern, I think investing in good 100% cotton paper is the first point and then if Cotman is all that's affordable afterwards, then the colors have a chance to look beautiful anyway.
ОтветитьWould love to see you use it outdoors! I'm scared to try plein air painting because of all the new supplies I'd have to buy. So this could really simplify my life if it holds up. Thanks for the video👍
ОтветитьI loooooooooove unboxing paint sets, unwrapping all of the little pans....sooo satisfying. 🤣
ОтветитьI love this palette. I use it all the time when painting outside. It is perfect. A plain air video with the palette would be great
ОтветитьMaybe the “water container” is a mini flask so you can have your own paint & sip on the go! Lol
ОтветитьI have this set for 4 years & used once, wasted money on other sets as I now see from your video, thanks. Could you please put up YOUR 12 color palette, warm-cool colors, thank you. And yes, do do a video of Plein Aire use. I sit in a wheel chair when outdoors to sketch etc so your video about the Plein Aire use would be helpful, thanks so much, yes I subbed.
ОтветитьWinsor and newton has the best paints. Your tripod is awesome, great tips
ОтветитьI would love for you to do some watercolour painting in the field Emily. Thankyou for this video.
ОтветитьI’m going to be honest…$60 is way to much to pay for this set of colors….especially when you can get 8ml for $3.29 each and 21ml for $6.35. Tubes are much more economical, and they rewet beautifully. And this set is 1/3 the price on Amazon.
Most people buy cotman because they are beginner not wanting to splurge, or can’t afford professional yet….so PLEASE send your viewers to price friendly sites or give them price friendly tips!
I may wanna have this kit, and I will change some colours too.
ОтветитьSuch a great video- tho Im not sure if you know but Amazon has that set for $30-$35. I usually dont get my watercolor sets from art shops since they are so much more expensive- Amazon has winsor and newton, Sennelier, m grham and Daniel Smith and usually for way cheaper then most art shops. Anyway super fun video, i recently discovered your channel and Im super happy I did since I love all your videos! Thanks for sharing and much much love. 😀
ОтветитьI love this. But one question. Which watercolor paints should I purchase? The winsor and Newton or Daniel Smith? I am always getting confused and I want to know which one is better. Please can you tell me which one and what do you think is best for beginners.
Ответитьcheers..pretty good content on yo channel...Peace
ОтветитьThank you. I have had this set for over 20 years. It has been a great pleasure to use. I still like it a lot but I think now many plen air artists or Urban Sketchers may use small sets with water brushes like the Sakura Koi etc.
ОтветитьEmily, come to Islam and success
ОтветитьJust out of interest Emily, if you had this W&N travel box and the Alternative 12 pan Portable Painter, which would you choose ?
ОтветитьHOW DOES THE BRUSH WORK
ОтветитьU can check @niaz_hannan works and see how beautifully he utilises that same chinese white. It does work best 👌
ОтветитьHow did this set work out for you on the field?
ОтветитьIt's a great little field box but I suggest that if folks have the money they purchase the professional version, the quality of the paints is much better.
ОтветитьSchminke and Van Gogh pans also fit in this palette you can add two more pans to the sides if you take out the sponge.
Ответитьthat paul ruebens hot press sketch book is terrible!!! i returned
ОтветитьI just purchased this and it seems they have adjusted their color palette. I love it!
ОтветитьI bought mine a year ago for $30 Canadian dollars on Amazon!
ОтветитьGreat to use have several sets of Coatman paints.
ОтветитьAs of May 2024, they've significantly adjusted the colours available. It seems they've taken your suggestions. Currently they have:
Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Doxazine purple, Ultramarine blue, Cerulean Blue, Sap Green, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Payne's Gray and chinese white
There are a couple of colours I'd still change but better.
Thanks for the review! W&N has actually done a redesign (it is white now) and changed the pallet. There is still a chinese white, but it now contains warm & cold primaries plus Payne‘s grey. I’m so happy I bought it.
ОтветитьI just got this set and I think they must have listened to your advice as they changed the colors. For my yellows, i got lemon yellow and cadmium yellow hue, and for my blues I got ultramarine and cerulean blue hue. They added the paynes grey but still kept the white. I would rather have pink instead of white. I love all of the other colors though, and I do have a tube of permanent rose so I think I will switch the white out for that one.
ОтветитьThat was the oddest product review. "I'm going to review this product, while using all of my other stuff that isn't the actual product, but does the same thing". Next, review a stool. But have a dining chair there, too. Tell us how great the dining chair is.
ОтветитьBecause white is a primary colour
ОтветитьI have the cotman set. Unfortunately the learning curve with relation to mixing colours is too steep for my fledgling brain to handle...... 😢
ОтветитьI just got that set from my grandfather from the Netherlands it worked so well especially I am a kid and that is good for kid bc it is small I like it alot
