ОтветитьWhat troubles me the most is not who is right and who is wrong. God is right we are wrong. If we think we understand the complexities of God because the writer’s gave us a glimpse then I would assume you have a full knowledge of creation because we have a glimpse of creation. The real question is not who is right and who is wrong. The real question is how do we as believers bring the seemingly opposing scripture into a compatible understanding. You cannot reject one side of the argument without calling the word of God a liar. If you believe the Bible is the word of God then you have to accept all of it. Even the parts that are complicated and unappealing.
ОтветитьThanks brother Allen, I'm saving this one.
ОтветитьI have to disagree with your conclusion. We go to Heavan because Jesus paid our fine on the cross and offers us a pardon. We have not done any "work" to pay the fine, and earn that pardon. We are not "earning" salvation by simply accepting a pardon. God does not "Zap" you , and make you accept the offer. Jesus Himself mourned for Jerusalem, longing to take them under His wings like chicks to a mother hen. But "You would not LET ME", He said. We truly have the choice to believe that Jesus' pardon is real or not. If your conclusion were true, Jesus would have "worked harder" as you put it, to make Jerusalem believe.
ОтветитьHi Allan. You have shared a few verses regarding the question "Does God predestine some people to go to hell and others to heaven before they are even born?" Each verse has a different context according to the situation or point that is being made. I don't think that it is a good idea to mix and match different verses together.
ОтветитьDon't let your understanding of the heart and love of God for us be diminished or distorted by Allen Parr's understanding. Don't do that. Allan lays down what he thinks as if any other view is unbiblical or irrelevant. Don't settle for what Allan says here. Meditate on the goodness of our Creator. Listen to Leighton Flowers (Soteriology 101) theological critique of Allan Parr's teaching on Calvinism in general and predestination/election in particular. It sheds light on what's wrong with what is taught here.
ОтветитьGod didn’t promise us heaven, he promised us the Earth. When we leave here we go to a holding place called the bosom of Abraham. And those that are supposed to go to. Hell , where they go. We got next. The next world is ours. This one is ending as we speak.
ОтветитьAren’t we supposed to “judge” or test the spirits to know who is who?
ОтветитьGod told Saint Gemma Galgani that she would be brought to heaven, this was after Saint Gemma's mother had died. Saint Gemma suffered stigmata.
ОтветитьHumans are predestined for hell bc its our punishment for sin because we are born into sin and its our nature to sin so both have merit and both seem very true in their own ways but this is how i understood it and how the holy spirit spoke to me if im wrong hold me accountable please dont be mean im new to ministry im trying to find my footing
ОтветитьAct 17 24-28 demonstrates that no matter where a person lives, they will have the opportunity to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He/she will have the opportunity to choose.
ОтветитьI beleive Paul is simply looking at the outcome from God perspective in that He already knows who is going to choose Him which is quite different from what you are describing.
ОтветитьI was holding my breath, hoping you would finish with the key scripture that explains this issue.
2 Timothy 2:25
GOD is merciful. HE does not change HIS mind like us, fickle, created beings. But HE has made it clear that HE will "repent of the evil" (kjv language) when petitioned.that is why we seek to.reconcile the lost, share the gospel, and MOST importantly pray, beg, intercede, cry out to the LORD that HE will give those who oppose themselves another opportunity to yield.
Thanks for telling me about going to heaven, will I go to heaven?
Ответить👌🏿🇭🇹👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
ОтветитьI think it was explained perfectly!!
ОтветитьWhosoever will may come
ОтветитьWasn't expecting the ending tbh lol But a great video and really helped me in this theological struggle.. I will continue to wrestle with this topic and read scripture. Love ya brother Allen!
ОтветитьYou taught this doctrine well. It is reeeally appreciated ❤. Thank you!
ОтветитьWell, I'm a Christian, born again, but I still struggle with sin. I hate the sins I commit, but the struggle is real. Does that mean I am not part of "The Elect"?
ОтветитьGod is the Potter we are the clay
ОтветитьThis is a false doctrine that I believed for 10 years. This is Calvinism.
ОтветитьI could be wrong about this but here is my take. The bible says that those who die unsaved have their names blotted out of the Lamb's Book of life (Ps 109:13, Rev 22:19). THIS presupposes that ALL our names are written in the Book of Life before we are born and our choice for or against Christ determines whether or not our name remains
ОтветитьGod pre knows the ones who would sell their souls for something they wont get from God. The one unforgivable sin is to give up the Holy Spirit. Anyone who is predetermined that he will hurt the Spirit and blasphemy Him will be turned over to complete sin and Satan. In my opinion. We are told that our sin is deserving of death. So, in His grace and mercy, He has seen who have hearts that can be filled with His Son and Spirit.
ОтветитьYou contradict yourself in the end. Everyone who accepts Christ as their personal Savior is elected. God doesn't elect others and pass over others so that they should perish. Salvation comes by grace from God and it's through faith in Christ as the same apostle Paul taught in Ephesians 2:8. Equal opportunity is given to all humans to accept the grace. Those who choose not to accept the grace also choose not to be among the elects. The election is for anyone who receives Christ as John 1:12 correctly makes it clear. Christ gives the power to become a child of God to anyone who receives Him. Those are the elects; only children of God will inherit his kingdom. You agree with the Armenians when you said God passed over certain people because they don't want God. That means those who want God are the elects. There's no middle ground here. God extends salvation to everyone and helps everyone to accept it. Those who don't want God to help them accept his salvation chose to perish, that's what the Bible teaches. Paul doesn't contradict himself. You quote Paul's writings for the Armenian view and the same Paul to support the opposing view. So the question is who is contradicting himself, Paul or those who don't understand him?
ОтветитьBrother Allen, the Armenian view is the most biblical. They aren't saying our salvation depends on our own efforts. They are simply saying God is reaching out to every sinner which we all are. But we have to accept or reject God's offer of salvation. And you agree with the Armenians when you said some people reject God and He gave them over to their reprobate minds. The words predestination and elections are confusing you. No one can save himself. We all agree on that. The Calvinists don't want to acknowledge that humans have anything to do with their salvation. However the Bible repeatedly admonishes humans to "choose" or other expressions which suggests the idea of choosing.
ОтветитьGOD WILL ALWAYS PROTECT YOUR RIGHT TO GO TO HELL IF YOU SO DESIRE.
ОтветитьWhy share the Gospel? They will be saved irregardless. Also, the Gospel wouldn't be "good news" because you would be preaching: "God loves some of you, but hates the rest." Also, you just preferred and gave more honor to half of the verses you read, choosing to ignore the rest. You can't be a faithful expositor and not deal with all of scripture. Reading it doesn't mean you've dealt with it. Very disappointed, brother. I love your content, but you've glossed over a centuries old debate and struggle in 26 minutes simply stating your position and not an exposition. Hopefully, you'll read this comment and think about it.
ОтветитьCalvin's theology of predestination has done great harm to the cause of Christ. It allows sinners the luxury of presuming they are saved for all eternity because of a sincere prayer at a moment in time in their life. Presumption of your salvation leads to pridefullness the chief sin. As a Catholic I have had OSAS gaping adherents tell us we don't know if we're saved. I gaze upon them with pity ad I agree and that is what keeps one humble, non-judgemental and clinging to the sacramental life. When I exit the confessional and am truly reconciled to God I know I have bathed in the fount of His mercy which Calvinism only ascribes to a vety small portion of humankind.
ОтветитьI’m still having difficulty understanding predestination. What about Pharaoh? The Bible says God hardened his heart to prevent Israel to leave. Did Pharaoh had any choice on his actions? Please help me to understand this.
ОтветитьOh wow i like the God gave you to explain this, Gos is Great and merciful
ОтветитьNope
Predestination is a hoax
And so is premillenialism
Thanks for the content
❤😊
Your friendly neighborhood preterist
Because I am a simple thinking person, this is the way I interpret this doctrine. I believe that since the days of Adam and Eve, God has given us free range to make our own decisions. God is also omniscient. This means, that God knew before the beginning of time the decisions that would be made by Adam and Eve, by Cane, by Judas Iscariot, and the decisions I would make. For this reason, the Old testament prophet was able to write about the 30 silver pieces being thrown to the Potter. This is because God already knew it from the beginning of time How Judas would act. Had Judas not made the decision he made on the night Jesus was betrayed, the prophet would not had to have written that hundreds of years before Judas, because God would already have known that Judas was not going to make that choice. It is the only way I can wrap my head around it.
ОтветитьAs Hank Hanegraaff would say, though I may not comprehend something, I can apprehend it.
ОтветитьWe don't go to heaven. The dead sleep in the earth until their resurrection, either the first or second. Those in the first resurrection live with the Son for 1000 years on earth. After the second the Father comes and makes His home on the earth with us!
Ответитьthan k you for the video i agree that god dose it all but like a loving father that he is He gives us a choice to except or reject the Gosple.
ОтветитьI use to believe this but now all l hear is lies. Y'all keep making up new rules if its true it would be the same today and tomorrow not changing Allen Parr if u teach Then God should give u a true statement
ОтветитьStop thinking everyone is stupid because they don't agree with you.
ОтветитьPredestination is predestination.
ОтветитьIt is the lords will that none shall perish... how can that be true and predstination?
ОтветитьIf calvinism is true its not true love. God chose us and who can deny Gods will? We dont have free will in that sense
ОтветитьAccording to the LCMS, all babies and stillborns on the planet not baptized as infants are predestined to eternity in hell.
ОтветитьNo, God does NOT predestine people for Hell. He simply honors their choice.
Jesus said that Hell was made beforehand for the devil and his angels. Therefore, if God predestined some for Hell as Calvinists claim, then Jesus would be a liar.
Believe in Jesus and keep his commandments and you will be saved, rebel and you probably wont!
Ответитьwon't! All must repent from our former ways.
ОтветитьYet another person who denies logic. If, according to you, God is not logical, then how one can explain the whole universe, which eventually based on logical build-up and all processes in the nature are arranged and work according to a strict logic? Remove logic and the universe will collapse. I do not deny the grace, given to us by the Creator, I am just trying to add to the idea of the author, that sometimes we cannot fully understand the logic, while the logic itself is always present in everything.
ОтветитьTo make this story short - The salvation does not depend on human efforts, but on God's grace - as the author quoted. Some people have been chosen by the God, while others have been not. That's it, full stop. All the rest are just speculations.
ОтветитьThank you for a well worked out teaching. However I'm left with some questions.
1. Have you considered that The problems of sin & death on humans are at the center of a heavenly legal suit?
You know, it's impossible to remain a just God punishing the devils for sin while allowing humans off the hook. Yet our great God did work out a way. 😊
2. Can you work the same linguistic gymnastics with the many Hebrew words regarding the Pharaoh in Exodus?
3. Why spend time proving that Scripture teaches that God has every right to create one clay "vase" pure & another clay "item" vile, if you've concluded that God in fact does no such thing? Seems to me that your teaching made this into an irrelevant point. Why might God feel we need to be aware of this fact.
4. Were the Israelites not the Elected people of God in their day (& a remnant to come)? Yet anyone could place their faith in God & join them at any time. Right? 😊
5. Is all off Scripture true? Can we say it's all true when properly understood? Might God on any occasion he likes make a vile clay vessel, while the general practice is more to your (our) liking & more easy to accept & understand?
6. Isn't Scripture pattern? The New Testament pattern in this case could fit number 4 above? Some were predestined to be chosen & yet the gift is still for all who hear & belive?
7. Isn't arguing that people might claim superior intelligence for choosing to accept Christ as Lord on the one hand a faulty argument since those on the other hand might claim superior worth & value, having been created as the bestest of choices that God could make right from the beginning? So either Doctrine risks foolish claims buy those claiming to be the recipients of God's Grace?
8. If only certain men are destined to election as saints & no others, then haven't we dissolved the first 14 verses you used along with the pattern (a major theme) of the entire Bible?
9. Why send us out with the Gospel? God's already got this covered by destiny, those folks can't miss out no matter what anyone does or doesn't do, right?
10. 🤔 how can even one be removed from the book of life in heaven? Does destiny break or fail sometimes?
11. How certain are you that any of the predestination verses represent a generalized, non spacific reading?
12. Romans 9:22 in English; destruction, you've equated this with hell. Does the Greek here mean destruction or hell?
Sorry, I just noticed that above may not look like it one bit, but honestly I enjoyed every bit of your lesson and 👍
It was way too short to really cover the topic though. Keep up the work of God my friend. ❤
Hey BEAT family! I got a deep one for you all today. WARNING: This video is not for those who simply want to just skim through and get a quick answer. I had to take my time with this and really try to break this down and look at it from all sides. I hope you appreciate and enjoy this video and I look forward to hearing your thoughts as always below. Enjoy!
