Who would doubt that Danny Goldberg would protect Courtney. After all, it was to him that she constantly ran. And it was to him that she brought Kurt's notebooks for some reason. I think he was either involved in Kurt's death himself or acted through Courtney. And when Kurt died and Courtney inherited his fortune, Goldberg received his share of this money.I think Danny used all his connections to shut down the investigation. Danny makes a blank face and thinks that people have never heard of corruption and corrupt cops. Isn't money the best motivation for crime? Black Widows and these crime schemes with staged murders for inheritance have been around since the very idea of inheritance of common property. Did Courtney have intent? Of course! Does Danny have intent to protect Courtney? Of course.

Cornell was doing anti sex trafficking work along with other stars who have all been found dead in one way or another. As far as Cobain, the Mentor’s singer, El Duce, was supposedly hired to kill Kurt; then, and after being questioned about his involvement, was found dead after being hit by a train near his trailer outside Seattle. Weird. I lived in Seattle 1989-92 and was around that scene. Personally, I think the Gus Van Zant film is closest to the truth: people Close to Kurt just did little to save him (except for maybe Kim Gordon and Michael Stipe); so many others just stood by and watched him sadly, slowly self-destruct ✌️

To me what killed him was the intervention and confronting him. That would piss me off too making you feel terrible about yourself ¹ and making him be sober when he didn't want to be. They had everyone in the in the room with him confronting him.Krist drove him to the airport making him go. Then he pitched a fit not wanting to go Really hurt him how 1. Friends family record company did it ultimately. Also why listen to someone who wasnt close to him instead of family and closest friends. People aren't too bright!!! Who would really want to kill him amd Court had nothing to do woth it
So lame. Duh!f those gius that did that do him!

Fyi to everyone who uses Grok, ask it to break down the financial details of not only the money involved in the immediate aftermath of Cobain's death but the long term loot from royalties from then until now. Here is a copy of the second version of the info it gave me after I had to ask Grok to condense it for the sake of fitting it a comment, Summarized Financial Breakdown of Beneficiaries from Kurt Cobain’s Death

Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994 left a financial legacy tied to Nirvana’s music catalog, valued at ~$50 million at the time and $450 million by 2014. The primary beneficiaries are Courtney Love, Frances Bean Cobain, Dave Grohl, and Krist Novoselic, with revenue from album sales, royalties, licensing, and merchandise. Below is a concise summary of their financial benefits (1994–2025), preserving key details.

Courtney Love
Initial Gain (1994): Inherited ~$40–45 million (estate, mansion, publishing rights) after invalidating a prenup.
Royalties & Income: Earned $74 million from 75% of Nirvana’s publishing royalties ($4.4 million/year, adjusted post-2006 sale of 25% for $50 million) plus ~$10–20 million from licensing/merchandise.
Total Benefit: ~$124–139 million.
Note: Controlled estate until 2010; net worth ~$100 million, largely from Cobain’s legacy.

Frances Bean Cobain
Initial Gain (1994): $0 (minor, controlled by Love).
Royalties & Income: Gained 37% of estate in 2010 ($1.14 million/year, $17.1 million by 2025) and full control in 2022 ($3.3 million/year, $9.9 million). Estate assets (~$200 million) plus ~$5–10 million licensing/merchandise.
Total Benefit: ~$232–237 million.
Note: Net worth ~$200 million, reflecting estate’s value and ongoing income.
Dave Grohl
Initial Gain (1994): $0 (no estate inheritance).
Royalties & Income: Earned $21.7 million from 12.5% royalties on 11 songs ($550,000/year) and Nirvana LLC non-publishing revenue (~$4.65 million).
Total Benefit: ~$21.7 million.
Note: Net worth ~$320 million, primarily from Foo Fighters.
Krist Novoselic
Initial Gain (1994): $0 (no estate inheritance).
Royalties & Income: Earned $21.7 million from 12.5% royalties on 11 songs ($550,000/year) and Nirvana LLC (~$4.65 million).
Total Benefit: ~$21.7 million.
Note: Net worth ~$80 million, less active musically.
Methodology & Caveats
Revenue: Estimated $4.4 million/year (2013 baseline), varying over time. Royalties split 75% (Cobain’s estate), 12.5% (Grohl), 12.5% (Novoselic) for 11 songs; Nirvana LLC splits non-publishing revenue equally.
Estimates: Pre-tax, excluding legal fees/estate taxes. Licensing/merchandise figures are approximations.
Context: Love’s initial control sparked disputes, settled by 2006. Frances now manages estate decisions.
Conclusion
Love ($124–139 million) and Frances ($232–237 million) are the primary beneficiaries, driven by estate control and royalties. Grohl and Novoselic each gained ~$21.7 million from royalties and LLC revenue, significant but secondary. Estimates reflect Nirvana’s enduring financial legacy despite incomplete public data.

Recently my relationship to the topic was reignited when the algorithm gods bestowed a nugget upon me, this dude's channel, WhoKilledKurtCobain, has 5 videos uploaded, each one is a clever song that tells part of the Cobain saga. Anyhow I've been able to briefly gather some info from the guy who runs the channel via the comment section, I asked him recently about insight into Tom Grant as I had come across a cat on another channel who was being hosted on a podcast who claims Grant tried to sell him the tapes he had and the rights to them for $1 million USD in order for this bloke I'm referring to on the podcast to make his own documentary. Well dude didn't have the money and he claims that was before Soaked In Bleach came out. That had me wondering about Grant. So back to the original channel I mentioned, whokilledkurtcobain, I asked him about Grant and this was his response: @ComeOneComeAll I am working on that. I know why Tom was really hired for. The focal point is Dylan, who bought a gun for Kurt after a gun law passed in Feb 1994 that restricts firearms to be sold to anyone with a history of mental illness, being suicidal and domestic violence. Courtney Love had all of the checks and balances situated knowing this law. So when the time was right, (Feb - April) before he got his Will notarized as his attorny was supposedly on vacation, and after he turned 27 and the gun law was in place (legacy values, royalty), the prevention of investigation comes next. Now the reason Courtney wanted his guns taken away should be obvious, he would try to defend himself and if he had succeeded, he would have Courtney behind bars and everyone involved.
So after his death item #8 receipt was found. The Stan Baker Store for the Remington, with Carlson's name on it, would show that he bought the gun (they needed the gun) and without the receipt there would definitely be an investigation, how did Kurt obtain this gun? So the narrative was pushed hard that he had been suicidal but in the Seattle scene people had known and were finding out Dylan bought the gun. The conspiracy would blow up eventually and without Tom it would have been labeled a homicide. He needed Carlson to appear as someone people would find sympathy for who didn't believe Kurt was suicidal, the receipt is not a lawfully officialized gun receipt, the cops just needed it on record. Because it's basically numbers and Dylans name and address, it wouldn't be considered evidence in Court, the ATF would have nothing of importance to work with because there is no legal information or data on the receipt.
This is not about Dylans sake, he is the first domino to drop that would bring everyone down. Tom is the FIREWALL that has successfully prevented the case from being investigated by the local police, the fbi, and the atf and from anyone because he is tipped off on every gap or lead in the coverup by people looking into the case. He will dismantle it while telling hald truths. His "evidence" is technically lacking in a court of law. There is a lot more.
Again the main focus is on Dylan, he needs to be protected by Grant through cleaning up his public image and playing the sympathy card. This is a soft conspiracy, a minimal receipt and a new gun law that loophole was all ot took.
As far as the killers, thats a different topic for another day.

I honestly wasn't sure initially what had happened to Kurt. However after watching the documentary where the private eye who Courtney Love herself hired believed that Courtney was the one who was extremely sketchy leading up to and after Kurt's death. But in Seattle where Heroin Addiction was exploding and Kurt was a hero to many, the cops saw this as a way to sorry for this pun, kill two birds with one stone. They could show Kurt's fans what Heroin causes, and take their hero down a few pegs. Being someone who's recovering from pain killer addiction, I can tell you that it's not easy, especially when your partner has a habit equal to or worse than yours. Courtney Love had so much to gain from this, but ironically the police were content with their blaming Kurt's death on a suicide. This entire incident was mishandled and screwed from the start and Washington state should be sickened by Seattle's handling of this case.

First of all, not that I believe that Kurt killed himself but regardless: one thing that you certainly could have done, Danny, was leave Kurt alone and let him do what he was gonna do instead of pressuring him to do things like...say...the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards? Or the 1994 Lollapalooza tour that he didn't wanna do? I'm sure that pressure wouldn't have helped anything had Kurt actually been suicidal, and regardless, it was putting a lot of pressure on him so that you could make as much money off of his as possible. So it's a bit challenging for me to take you and your supposed opinions on this topic seriously.

Second of all: what has completely discredited you is the consistent claim that you make that no one benefitted from Kurt's death. You know that's a bunch of crap. You, Courtney, Geffen, and everyone else who was making -- and who still make -- money off of Nirvana sales all benefitted from Kurt's death -- and certainly no one more than Courtney, as you most certainly know.

And saying there's no such thing in the music industry as the idea that a dead rock star is worth more than a living rock star (as you've done) is totally untrue and you know that. Maybe that's true when the rock star is out touring and is at the peak of their fame and working consistently -- but when that rock star becomes a liability and starts being difficult in one way or another about working and/or decides they want out...well, then obviously at that point that musician is gonna be worth way more to you dead than alive.

And I mean, look at you: you're still making money off of Kurt now with your freaking book that you're selling because it has Kurt's image on the cover. Would you have written and be selling a book about Kurt and your experiences working with him were he still alive? I don't think so.

Tom Grant said that Rosemary (your ex-wife) told him that you only say these kinds of things in public and that you don't actually believe the crap you're saying, so yeah, dude -- you're full of it.
