The Emirate of Umm Al Quwain
- It is one of the seven emirates of the UAE
- - It is located on the northwestern coast of the country on the Arabian Gulf
- It is one of the most important tourist attractions. It is calm and far from noise and crowds
- - For those who are interested in history, Umm Al Quwain is rich in its monuments. We will review some of them for you:
- Tell Abraq:
- - It is a prominent archaeological site between the emirates of Umm Al Quwain and Sharjah
- It dates back to the third and second millennium BC
- - It is a group of houses around a fortress built of sea stones
- Ed-Dur Archaeological Site:
- It is one of the most important archaeological sites. It dates back to the first and second centuries AD
- - It has a unique temple dedicated to the worship of the sun god
- and a group of archaeological buildings and there are foundations for a castle with towers
- The excavations revealed the ruins of an ancient port that reflects the grandeur of the ancient civilization
- - Umm al-Quwain Historical Fort (Umm al-Quwain Museum):
- It is built in 1768 AD and it is a defensive line for the city
- - It was the seat of the ruler and centre of the administration of the country’s affairs
- In 2000, it was transformed into a museum containing many rooms showing various aspects of people’s life, historical documents, manuscripts, folk crafts and traditional weapons
