Promises by Daniel Hellbach is the 1st piece from his collection RockBallads Vol. 3. Hellbach is a Swiss piano teacher and composer of mainly piano pedagogical literature. Hellbach's merit with his works is to open a door from classical music to rock and pop music and vice versa. I use Hellbach's works a lot in my lessons and recommend anyone interested to take a look at the Acanthus publishing programme with Hellbach's works.

In addition to many pieces for beginners and advanced students, you will also find the volume with the rock ballads, which belong to the works for advanced students. This work is also educational literature, as the dedication reveals (for the pupils of Michael Hasskerl). Even if this piece is a genuine ballad from the soft rock genre, many of Hellbach's works are from the crossover area between pop, rock and classical music. I have personally experienced how pupils with reservations about one musical genre or another have become more open-minded in their tastes by studying Hellbach's works. And some of Hellbach's pieces are difficult to categorise in one way or another.
