Title is "Five Angles on Murder". Excellent film! Had to be fun for the actress to play the part. And one of the two British Hermoines that were part of my childhood love of movies.
I really enjoyed this one. The old movies always tell a good story. Acting was top notch.
You're gonna like this film.
Hermoine's in it! It has to be good! I was so intrigued by the name Hermoine as an American child born in 1957. I hadn't heard it before and the surnames of my Hermoines were fascinating to me, too. Baddeley and Gingold.

Since Bob admitted his atrocious American accent was fake to his fiancee, strangely he persists in using it to her!

Usually a supporting player, Scottish actor Duncan Macrae has a central role here as a chief, investigating officer. (Note: this commentator previously misidentified (~Oct/24) Australian actor John McCallum (who was married to Googie Withers) as the inspector until corrected by "nutmeg's" reply below.

The whodunit is told via flashbacks of different characters; sometimes details overlap. Fun to see Anthony Dawson (uncredited) steal each scene in which he appears.

All actors are excellent. Clean, clear copy! Thank you for posting.

The leed actress was so good I almost thought it was two actresses. Fascinating to be drawn in to trying to discover who is this character really; a trashy opportunist or a classy lady? Captivating mystery. Excellent production and direction. All the actors were outstanding. I highly recommend this great film noir. 👍👍

This movie is well worth watching. The cast is filled with English actors that were household names in England during their careers, but likely not well known by Americans (like me) except for Dirk Bogarde. The sailor is played by John McCallum from Australia who left for England for most of his career before returning to his homeland - spent all of WWII in the Australian army serving in New Guinea.
