Flip vs Fold: Why Not Both?

I don't know why I decided this was the week to just send all my hot takes

My S25 Ultra is doing the same thing and so did my s23 ultra. The s23 was factory reset so it doesn't have RCS enabled. RCS always screws up for iPhone RCS chats for me on Verizon. My messages will send as RCS and then the response back from the person will be an SMS and it drives me crazy. Doesnt seem to be any fix out there. Idk if itd carrier related or an Apple tactic to make things worse.

THIS HAPPENS TO ME AND MY MOM .. SHE IS TMOBILE AND I AM AT&T. What I figured THAT HER PHONE IS TOO OLD (5yr old) AND she did not get a RCS update. She cant get photos and texts. Had to switch to mms and sms.

imagine you invented a water bottle that had a filter so good you patented it, and your product was so good it became the best selling water bottle in America, but then Stanley came to you and asked if they could use your patent for free, you would say no, so then Stanley customers get upset, Stanley the company doesn't want to put up the resources to make a better filter, so they don't, and then the EU comes in and says, "Hey I know you invented this but you now legally have to put up you OWN resources to develop a way for your competitors to use your patent, because this inconveniences us", you say "Thats ridiculous", and the EU says "It isn't fair to Stanley that your product is better then theirs and this causes people never to chose theirs or other brands," you ask if they are going to be paying for this, and they say "Nope," you ask "Why me and not any other brands that have patents or new tech that I can't legally use" 
and they say "well you see, you make soooo much money that we've just chosen you as our target," you argue saying things like -
"what happened to the American dream" 
"why don't they just make a better filter, then theirs would be chosen over ours"

and they simply reply "Communism"

Apple should fire their Siri team..they are awful for a decade already if they can't make it better just sack those people n save money.. Give chagpt plus default in all iPhones

@mkbhd I just had this same issue that happened to me. It was my sim card that was the issue. I had installed an esim used it, then switched back to my American sim. Idk what fixed it but I removed and reinstalled my American Sim and it works now...

I’m with Adam: 1. Apple Flip makes way more sense to attract most iPhone users to a different form factor. As a woman, the the only foldable that has caught my eye every time I see it is the z flip fold, and that’s largely just the aesthetics and all of the cute accessorizing options. If they also brought color back for an apple flip, it would be even more appealing for younger demographics as well. 2. I also agree on Adam’s takes on the EU vs Apple discussion. The argument acts like people don’t have agency and can’t choose to leave the Apple ecosystem, but they can and do. It does seem like a slippery slope when a company builds products and then a third party controls their business by making them change things like this… Many people make the argument that Apple should focus on making customers desire to stay by making the best products, not products that make them want to stay in the ecosystem, but that’s really a fine line tbh— they make the best products compatible with their own products. I guess I just don’t see how that’s inherently wrong.

The EU Has to jump in to regulate because American tech companies are getting to max capitalism and require nerfing.

I was also very frustrated RCS messages not sending, I had same issue with US Mobile (on Verizon network), This issue disappeared when I switched back to Mint Mobile, In my experience it's network carriers issue. So try using different network carrier with RCS. Hopefully this helps. Good Luck

I've know so many people over the years that just would not leave the apple ecosystem, it's not about the iPhone, it's about the fact that once you're locked in, you have to buy another computer, another tablet, another watch, another set of airpods. I guess LTT's switch to android video was just perfect timing haha.

I have also swapped between phones and usually i have found its on the client side. I have group imessage chats that i no longer receive messages for. The usual fix is to have the clients delete the message thread and for you to start a new thread with the now samsung device.

I never use airdrop. I think the Apple Watch stipulation is valid, the other stuff is petty, competitive advantage isn’t illegal

Clear cache for carrier services/communication in all apps, clear cache on Google Messenger, reset phone

It will fix the issue 90% of the times.

I had this same RCS messaging issue on my Google pixel 7 a couple of months back (January if I'm remembering correctly)
I didn't get group messages, or anything RCS related. I did try calling my carrier (Spectrum Mobile) but they didn't have any solution. The problem got fixed the next month (February ) when I received the pixel security update. Hopefully yours gets fixed soon.
