The Iran China railway opened May 25 . And open source , questionable i suppose , material says theres large shipments from China to Iran by sea as well. China concievably could sustain Iran some as a war of attrition or expenditure of missles develops in its war with Isreal. The first rail shipments from Chinese occupied Turkestan ( Sinkiang) to the Taliban regime in Afganistan occured in late Oct. 24. One of the losses by the majical thinking always war like Democrats in the idiotic and precipitous surrender of Afganistan was loss of the Bagram air base which conceivably might have been held at least for monitoring far central Asia. Any hope we might have had of any presence in central Asia is gone. And there will soon enough be rail corridors into Pakistan from China. Turkey is treacherous but might have been some sort of ally and stemmed these catastrophic reversals . But China will not permit Iran to be subdued or rendered wholly impotent. Maybe Doomberg is right that Isreal can be rendered unfunctional with 12 major strikes , for 6 desalination plants and 6 power plants and 2 nat gas fields. Its hard to imagine how the eastern Mediterranean avoids becoming more of a dying cul de sac or how the suez canal does not continue to diminish and cargo ship size escalate as tanker ship size has .
20 some years ago when idiotic Americans and Brits were indulging their delusions of grandeur after the fall of the USSR both Exxon and British Petroleums thought Russia and central Asia would be a fief. Even when Calgary was essentially strong armed out of Kazakstan , a pro Calgary regime given its druthers , the fools in Exxon and BP couldnt imsgine their majestic greatness being threatened. Calgarians rebuilt the old soviet era oil industry and refinery with the support of Nazir Bayev , via Hurricane Hydrocarbons. We re built a refinery that sustains a modern economy in Central Asia esp Kazakstan . And Nelson petroleums did very difficult , very technical work on the Caspian sea. It was forced , because Bayev was forced to sell to Russian oligarchs , PetroKahzakstan created by a brilliant geopolitically astute French oilman Isaultier , the real gem was surrendered to China. I remember when Nazir Bayev visited the city he was greeted like the Queen by the Priemier and Mayor on the steps of the City Hall , the foothill rsnchers , the founding families of the city put on a glittering banquet. That is so long ago i scarcely remember.
But i tell you law , social order, property is ultimately sustained by force. It was to be expected that we be force out. And now the largest western power is excluded. The USA might some how keep the Gulf of Persia the Arabian sea etc open , keep Saudi from being over whelmed by our enemy as Kazakstan was , maybe. Isaultier , he went to a happy and very well heeled after life in French Polynesia , although the Chinese would be very glad to push us , the west out of the pacific too. Ultimately if our metropolitan countries like Canada or France or the USA are over whelmed , wrecked and hollowed out by idiot socialists and i intellectuals, the tax havens and this floating cosmopolitan world where wealth is safe from thieving insane metropolitan democracies wont be possible we will all be slaves , the way the rich in Saudi and China and Russia are slaves . And id suggest taking a maverick reformer like Trump seriously. We do not want to become as fully failed and contemptible as the UK or France or Germany. And if someone was interested id LOVE to talk about the collapse of French Power in Africa. At least in the case of Hurricane Hydrocarbons we knew the gig was up and Bayev who we treated well and treated us well ( and no doubt got perks for his friends and family) negotiated a good price from the invading Chinese.
But oh oh the age of Empires is over were in a majical new world of inteenational law and human rights , and ecofantasy and St. Greta Thunberg. Im sorry yr sick but dont weaponize sickness for bad bad bad political arguments.

“We can’t pretend that Trump is somebody else.” — Absolutely!! When will journalists realize? Will they ever listen to Vlad or are they permanently imprisoned by the narrowness of their wishful thinking? And lastly, how much does society and politics need to suffer as a result before real catastrophe (and I don’t just mean bad things) happens as a result?

BUT if Biden was bombing Iran you'd be all for it as "liberating" the Iranians. The truth is Trump does not want to go to war with Iran or he would be attacking them now. So, this is how silly politics works - Trump says he wants to bomb Iran (because he doesn't, but can't get Iran to negotiate without threatening it), so you think in your lack of intelligence, he is going to bomb Iran. If Trump wants to bomb Iran then that is the wrong thing to do. Later when you discover Trump does NOT want to bomb Iran after all, you will be annoyed and say how Trump is helping the "Axis of Authoritarianism" export authoritarianism around the world because Trump is not bombing Iran. This is why political commentators are all a waste of time. They do not have any brains at all but just repeat what the corporate owned media, who hate Trump, tell them to think.

He won’t drop any bomb whatsoever. You have experienced all this in Trump 1.0 so all this should be no surprise. He wakes up every morning wondering how he ‘can shake the world today’. But one thing he DOES understand is Steve Bannon saying he will lose his presidency if he bombs Iran, let alone nukes it. If the world just ignored him, didn’t react and carried on he would be impotent.

trump knows that he doesn't even know what he doesn't know, and he is too arrogant and obnoxious to ask for assistance of any kind... He's up in the middle of the night - rage-texting and ranting and probably wears a catheter and a diaper to any meeting more than one hour - - - and yet he is running (and ruining) the most-powerful economy and the most powerful military in the world. Scary.

Trump Unfit To Lead is the least surprising headline of 2025 but as always, Vlad does a tremendous job of pinpointing the specifics and dismaying dynamics of the situation. This time around he has surrounded himself with not nearly competent enough people who are purely selected for their sycophancy - the majority of them will never disagree with or question a word he says.

Excellent observations about the "character" Donald Trump. You must also take into account his cowardice, or the vulnerability that leads to his cowardice. This is why he won't go for the bunker buster if he isn't confident it will work, it is why he hopefully will not resort to any nuclear options. There is nowhere to shift the blame if these go poorly, he feels that the scrutiny and knows he will not bare it. And so it cannot be allowed to happen, a task he is confident he can handle. This isn't to say Trump wouldn't love to go down in history as the second president to deploy a nuclear device, but this particular circumstance won't allow him to play the hero then simply blame others for the outcome.

For the US President to acknowledge illiteracy and "learning by other means" would be political suicide. Secondly, most people with a normal IQ and reading disorders can be treated well enough that they can learn by reading articles. Granted they may never be the next Great Novelist, nor be drawn to jobs that demand a tremendous amount of archival research. But they can get to a HS level.

Hello Vlad and others,
I'm writing this comment as a way of documenting this moment, since I don’t know when I’ll have access to the internet again.
Over the past few days, we in Iran have been experiencing the most severe internet blackout we've ever faced. Only government-approved Iranian websites and social apps were accessible—we were completely cut off from the outside world. The extent of this blackout was so extreme that virtually every method of bypassing the restrictions failed entirely.
The official justification for the blackout was "national security" and "combating Israeli cyber warfare," but few people believed that. Most understood it as a means to control the population.
On the approved platforms, an alternate reality is being constructed—one where, through the use of AI and fabricated news, Iran is portrayed as defeating Israel, setting it ablaze, shooting down jets, and regularly capturing pilots.

There is a 4th point, and that's the most important core point. All the thought process inside Trump's mind are driven by only one thing, and that's about "Him". Behind any issue, his mind only thinks about what he will do that will make "him" popular or show him as a "boss", show him as he is above everyone. Whether it is war, whether it is tariff, whether it is geopolitics, whether it is immigration, his mind is incapable of thinking what is good for people, or for economy, or for diplomacy, or for peace, or for anything. If you listen any his speech, interview, conversation, or any word coming from his mouth, it's only 'him' 'him' 'him'. Take any world leader today from any country, nobody speaks like Trump about himself only in all their speeches, even Xi or Putin. And that's the core reason behind all the 3 points you mentioned here, that's the reason why Trump's mind does not drive him to learn things about other countries or history, or to take suggestion from others. Because there is nothing else in his mind other than HIM.

İs that they spend far too much time criticizing , nit picking and doting on his every word , which his statements are very normal for a run of the mill American,
Yet they give his absolute toxic, idiotic, ill thought , half baked , often times downright destructive policies a pass .
Trump is wrong on everything, health, education , science, history , finance, tariffs, immigration, taxes , every single policy is a nuclear threat to US prosperity and security
The media really fail to realize almost zero Americans support, understand or would be able to defend any of his actual policies.
İf no news cast showed a picture of trump or a video clip and instead described his policies and plans we wouldn't be here

Because being formal and decent often is misrepresenting reality and is untruthful. But it's scary for journalists that his decision making process is inherently genocidal, with this man that has a crisis of complete victimization and narcissistic personality disorder, that you never discuss on your channels.
