My friend just got the Ruger. He likes it a lot
ОтветитьNice comparison as I choose both....LOL...Either way you are in good company....Good stuff....
ОтветитьNice video. Good information on both the Ruger & M&P.
ОтветитьI'd go with the shield, cause I own one. Great guns.
ОтветитьI was looking at both of these and I had mentioned it to a guy at work about them and he told me his brother was trying to sell a shield with a Apex Trigger and Trijicon night sights for 300 and that's what I went with that is my EDC now
ОтветитьRuger ec9s:)
ОтветитьDue to the sights s more fair comparison would be lc9s. But I understand harder to find. I just got a deal on lc9s pro but haven't shot it. I have shot the lc9s before though exact same except the safeties. Or, lack thereof. And my pro has the stainless slide/duo tone which I also love.
ОтветитьHow do you get the gold M&P slide accent? It looks great
ОтветитьMore fair comparison would probably be the LC9s not the Ec9s
ОтветитьI pocket carry the Ruger ec9s to back up my Beretta 92fs. If I don't carry two pistols it's because I'm carrying three. I've had ten back surgeries and can't move too well but with proper clothes especially my gun belt I can pretty much stand my ground, Thank GOD We live in America!!!!!
ОтветитьHas anyone noticed when you have the 7 round mag loaded to the top and one in the chamber, one of the top rounds in the mag moves back and for creating a clicking noise.
ОтветитьI own both but prefer carrying the Ruger. My wife likes the shield so it's hers. Both are great choices. I like the Ruger to carry slightly more as the rounded edges just seem to tuck better for me.
ОтветитьI have both LC9s and the Shield. The Ruger is a little better when wearing dress pants while at work. Both are fantastic.
ОтветитьOk, so you like the M&P better but you are going to continue carrying the EC9s? I love S&W and have one of their revolvers. Looked at and fired both before i purchased one. In the sub compact family, the Ruger leads the pack. Just my two cents but I love my EC9s. Wouldnt trade it for ccw. Love the thumb safety and everything else about this little 9.
ОтветитьThe hogue grip is a must have for the EC9s. I didn't like the way it felt in my hand until I put the hogue on it. Now it fits my hand like a glove.
ОтветитьYet they made the LC9s Pro with no safety and the Ruger American SC with the option of no safety.
I talked to Ruger and they stopped production of the LC9s Pro. If you want one you better start shopping.
I'm left handed and nothing any different than me shooting a Glock or the Shield. I never swap the mag release for left handed use. I am to use to stock. The biggest thing is that damn SAFETY but I just leave it off.
Own both pistols. Slightly prefer the Shield as it feels much better in the hand and the sights are much better than the EC9s. The sights disappear on the EC9s. Paint is in order. Both are reliable. I give an edge to the EC9s trigger, but it does have a little slap in the trigger. Fire a couple 100 rounds and you'll feel a sting in your trigger finger. Can't kick on either pistol for the price. The Shield handles steel case ammo with no problem- the only difference in reliability. The Shield puts a lot less trauma on your hand. I was actually getting nicked by the slide on the EC9s at first. Not a big fan of the take down roll pin in the EC9s, either. Not a major complaint. Can't go wrong with either pistol. OWB Fobus holster, either pistol carries easily. Great pistols.
ОтветитьJust an FYI, the EC9S is on sale this weekend for $199.99 at Dunham's sporting goods. They have an coupon for it on their website.
Ответитьgood review
ОтветитьBeing the EC9S is my 1st CC pistol, the additional safety features that annoy some are some of the key reasons I decided to go with the EC9S. I especially like that it doesn't shoot when the mag is not in it. Kind of figured I could keep the gun in one pocket with the mag in the other and not have to worry about shooting my junk off. I may change my mind later, but that's my current thinking now. P.S. Thanks for breaking it down and showing us how to clean it as well. I read the instructions, but your video made things much more easier to understand.
Ответитьon another note GO BIG RED...lol
Ответитьheck the price of these is SUPER low... I got both and gotta say the ECS 9 is my favorite 9mm carry, but the Shield is more "fun" to shoot a lot. Just MHO
ОтветитьHad the EC9S, traded it for the m&p shield 9 and dont regret it at all.
I like the grip better on the shield much better, fills my hand better, more comfortable to shoot.
One time out at the range, on the second shot (ec9s) the extractor, spring, and plunger all took off. I do have to say rugers costumer service is excellent.
But I am very happy with the shield.
You shoot the EC 9s better but go with the bigger, heavier Smith? Just wondering the logic.
ОтветитьI couldn't decide so I bought both.
ОтветитьCan't go wrong with either gun. Ruger is easier concealed in a pocket. Both are super accurate and comfortable to shoot a lot.
ОтветитьI carried a Glock 43 I just couldn’t hit good with it - got the EC9s and wow all in Center - so now my carry gun - only thing I wish was better bluing - I carry mine 24/7 and it has some wear spots from holstering - But for the money it’s the BEST
ОтветитьHow are the triggers?
ОтветитьI purchased my ruger ec9s for 185 I couldn't pass it up
ОтветитьYou can also use a crayon on the lettering and change the color anytime you want on m&p 9 shield
ОтветитьI went in to the shop last week to buy the Ruger ec9s. They were all sold out, so I bought the shield. Hope I don’t regret not waiting!
ОтветитьOn the EC9S if you put an aftermarket grip it feels less top-heavy.
ОтветитьI bought my very first ec9s actually it was my very first gun ever!! After careful reviews it beat others for a small slim 9mm that was simple and discrete. After a year later with numerous range time under the belt it only had 1 darn fail a lead round, the ec9s doesn’t like lead rounds. I have other cool guns now but the ec9 is still my preferred concealed carry weapon of choice.
ОтветитьThank you Travis. I have both and both are in my rotation. I give the edge to the 9 Shield primarily due to the bright 3 dot sights. The EC9s, 9 Shield and 45 Shield 2.0 are all in my EDC rotation.
ОтветитьI love my ec9s just wish it had more options as far as mags go. I wanna take a look at the shield tho ,Probably will go to the range to see how the shield shoots.
ОтветитьI have the shield 2.0 with tfos. I'm picking up a ec9s this weekend for $220 private party. Looks to be in great condition. I'm looking for a pistol I can leave in my car when I can't carry. I use a valet service for my car alot at doctor's appointments and I have to use our local court house alot so the Ruger will be a car gun. Although I do not keep them in the car overnight. No reason for that.
ОтветитьDefinitely going for the EC9s for edc
ОтветитьI just shot one today for the first time holy shit is it good .. accurate as hell and trigger is amazing I ran about 150 rounds not one failure so far... very very impressed November 9/2020
ОтветитьJust got a ec9s for 179.99
ОтветитьNow that Biden is president, good luck getting the ruger.
ОтветитьI love carrying my Ex9s that my every day carry and it’s super easy to conceal
ОтветитьI’m literally thinking of switching from the shield to the EC9 mainly because I love the ruger trigger on my LCP II .380, and the .380 just shoots so accurately.
Ответить🇺🇸 RUGER EC9S 🔝🇺🇸
ОтветитьI own both...
Ответить$250 for a Shield? TF kind of work you living in? They are $400 minimum.
ОтветитьYou should have put them side by side so we could see the thickness on them.
ОтветитьI had a Lc9 yrs ago... sold it, kinda always wanted another one so i picked up a Max 9 and just recently ordered a EC9S also i need to get another Max 9 as i sold mines to fund another project but planning to get another one soon... for Christmas 🎄 I'm planning to Spoil myself and buy mr a Springfield prodigy 4" model will be thanks to my job.. they give I'd a Christmas/End of the year bonus so I'll get around $950-$1000 which I'll be using to get the gun if it's out of stock my second choice odds the Springfield Emissary 4"so either way I'll be getting a trophy 🏆 gun....
ОтветитьI actually have a Springfield Hellcat, Love the gun but I often find myself going back to my Shield 2.0.. It just feels like the perfect gun. not too big, not too small. And I shot the Shield better than my cousin's Glock 43X. and his wife's Ruger Lc9s, That's why I bought the Shield 2.0. But I did upgrade the trigger the mag capacity with magguts springs, the mag release button, night sites and added an aluminum pinky extension. I always carry the extended backup mag. So this is a perfect setup when I'm running this gun
ОтветитьThe trigger sucks on the EC other that it's a good gun the shield is better in my opinion
