A pop singer doing a pop version of a heavier song doesn't automatically make it terrible. I'd say only about half of these are bad.

Okay. Limp Bizkit covering Tool is the least expected thing I could see today.

William Shatner's version of Iron Man is awesome. I liked it. As for the others many are still decent. They are trying to aim for a different audience than the traditional metal crowd. I admit the originals are better. The best remake is William Shatner's version of Iron Man. As fellow track fans said in response to why he did the remake is "He is the Captain and he can"

All of them except the Avril remake were awful, she was alright. Kanye can't sing so hearing him covering one of the greatest singers of the century was insulting. The tool cover made me despair. Tool shouldn't be covered.

TBF, all Shatner's musical efforts are tongue in cheek and 'so bad they're good' applies to all the covers. His intense delivery of Rocket Man is illogical but...out of this world.

Kanye can sing. That was just straight up ugly. Some of the covers weren't horrible, but could have been much better. Shatner was just hilarious.

Most of the covers were not that terrible because the covering artists were good singers in their own right. But then there was Kanye West.

As I'm sure you know, Joan Jett's version was, itself, a cover. Actually, most weren't terrible, apart from the rapper guy murdering Bohemian Rhapsody.
