I also really enjoyed Kills! If there's one part that I didn't care too much for it would have to be the whole mob chasing the other patient thing. It ultimately lead to the patient committing suicide. I felt that it was a political message that didn't need to be in the movie, imo. Rowdy angry mobs usually never lead to anything good. In the movie, Brackett says.."now he's turned us all into monsters" which to me, is a finger point to Trump. I for one hate the state our country is currently in. I just felt there was no need to inject that into the movie.

Is the title “Halloween Kills” a reference to the line “Speed kills!” from the original? Maybe it’s just a coincidence though

I Liked it glad they brought back old characters from the first two films and new characters of the storyline’s Halloween ends Will have four year time jump what’s next after Halloween ends fans thought 2018’s Halloween was the final one how it ended.

The movie was intense, it was accurate. People are really that stupid. The mob, the gun use, the fear.... it’s all true

I was very disappointed. The mob just took me out of the movie. It felt like I was watching a completely tone from the last one even tho it is supposed to take place immediately after. Glad you and others liked it tho. Not for me I guess

I rewatched both 2018 and Kills last night. Way better experience watching them back to back. The first go around I went to the theatre with no refresh and it hurt the experience a little. After also rewatching this review I chuckled at the Hawkins theory because not only did he get a knife pen to the jugular he then immediately got his whole body ran over by Michael’s doctor when he drove away with Laurie’s granddaughter and Michael in the back seat.

that other patient ..was 10 feet from Michael in 2018 in an institute for the criminally insane and was cheering the concept of Michael getting his mask back .he must have done something really really bad to be where he was so close to Michael when you break that down there is no reason to feel sorry for him
as a co patient in the hospital he was michaels friend..michael killed all of their friends so they went to kill his.. and Done

I liked Halloween kills better then Halloween 2018 the flashback scene was well done I thought the town mob was way over the top in the hospital

I could buy that Hawkins survived if he JUST got stabbed in the throat. The blade was small and it could've missed a major artery. The big problem (and I think a lot of people forgot this because they don't mention it) is that Hawkins also got ran over afterwards. You would at least have some broken bones after that, and provided your midsection got ran over than several of your organs would probably be paste as well. Hawkin's being alive is a major stretch and even if he is he would look far worse than he does in this movie.

watching this over and over .. Michael must have chose lori because in the original he watched her go up to the myers house front door to drop off a key or whatever
and if if the sister thing is abandoned will they explain the Gravestone he stole and placed in the original for lori and whoever else to find michale chose that judith myers particular headstone and placed it where he did for a reason

when it comes to Tommy Doyles mob refer back to Men in black.. "a person is smart, people are dumb" look at the way they attacked michael one at a time like they were in a kung fu movie
walking away and enabling him to put his mask back on which obviously is the source of his power now he channels the unbeatability of Captain Kirk
if you get rid of the mask you get rid of michael ????

This movie was good, not great as it has it's problems but it is one of the good ones for sure, and about the origin story I would rather not know why Michael Myers does what he does, he is always scarier when you know less of him. The less you know the scarier it is, that's how Michael Myers was originally established to be, a mysterious villain with no emotion, no motives, his mission is just to kill for whatever reasons we can only assume but the questions still remains there as to why he kills.

Great movie. Great experience. I gave it 4 coffee cups.

I love how this trilogy is focusing on trauma and the lasting impact it leads not just on the victims as in H18, but the community in Kills. Also, like you mentioned, I loved how they played with the "Fate" themes in 2018. Tommy, Lonnie, Laurie, Allyson, Officer Hawkins, and even Karen at the end all felt that they were personally the ones who had to end it. Half of them died because of that. The same can be said for Doctor Sartain.

I think there are two key scenes in this movie that show healthy steps in overcoming trauma, and I really want to see those expanded on in Ends. The first is when Laurie learns that Michael wasn't after her, and it was Doctor Sartain's obsession that led him to her. This made her realize that she wasn't tied up in this fate. These things are not destined to happen to her. She still has control over her life. The second scene is when she and Officer Hawkins were in their hospital beds talking about their pasts and Officer Hawkins recalled his events and why he felt this was all his fault. By finally speaking the truth about that day, Officer Hawkins has started to process the guilt he has carried around with him for 40 years. Laurie and Officer Hawkins are finally dealing honestly with their past and how it has shaped their lives. I think this is the key to how Ends will play out, but I don't know what shape that will take.

Just watched it. It was not bad had some k moments and some moments of meh.

I also loved this one. It’s nice to see a review of this movie that sees the love that the cast and crew has for the franchise and appreciates the timeliness of the narrative. I think I’m going to try going into Ends blind, it sounds like such a heightened experience.

i have now watched H kIlls 10 times , i got the 4k and blue ray, i honestly enjoy it , i think it will age well and become one of the favs in the franchise. 2018 i dont get the same fun or enjoyment but its not bad either. i really hope Ends is a smaller contained movie, maybe 4 or 5 killings and less gore. And please dont make it a Michael vs Laurie movie , we need her to die early and get this done finally. i just want to see a more 1978 Halloween movie, more stalking , Michael being more his ghostly shape self. i really enjoyed your review and input. can tell your a Halloween die hard, its great to see.

I REALLY liked this film. I was not thrilled with last one for my own reasons...but THIS one was awesome..I don't get the hate it got.

I agree I didn't think Kills was as bad as people were making it out to be. I love the entire opening 1978 scene and the retro look to it. The only bad thing about it was Hawkins aim!

halloween kills is now in my top 5 in the franchise. The actual murders were brutal as hell. i give it 4.5 stars for sure.
