Catcalled since age 8. Sexually abused at 11. I’m only 13 years old, y’all. No one, not male, female, enby or whatever else should have to go through that. This one time a guy (who obviously was not a minor) had come up to me when I was about 14 and got really close and started asking me for my snap. He called me cute and I was terrified so I just said 'thank you'. My mom called me and he kept pushing for my snap, I told him I didn't have Snapchat, so he asked for something else, so I just said my Instagram. I even took the time to spell it out for him as I ran away to my mom. I was too scared to be impolite and I felt obliged to tell him. When I got into the car my mom yelled at me for being stupid :/ So, this poem especially hits hard when she says "we convinced ourselves there is protection in being polite."

Having aFather’s Day lunch with some people on my moms side of the family I was in a light blue floral dress that went down below my knees and was walking back from the bathroom when a grown man cat called me I was scared and I ran to my mom and told her she did nothing my mom and my grandma and great grandma are very Masaginistic and believe that a woman is to Mary a man and be a house wife and like girly things so they did nothing

When I was 11 I was walking around my neighborhood and the high school boys all got off the bus staring at me and calling me snow bunny I remember running home in fear of what would happened if I stayed

I'm a teenager. And I honestly feel incredibly lucky that I have never experienced sexual harassment. But that doesn't mean I won't try to stop it from happening. Because it does still happen! This was posted 7 years ago, nothing much has changed.

I love this because it's not about "men"like usual feminism, it's about "certain men". I'm a man and I can say that for me, and every other man I like to be around with, people that catcall and judge women/ treat them worse than men are also our enemy. Not only do they harass the women we love (friends, sister, mother, ...), but they also prevent us from getting into relationships with women (friendship as well as love), because of the shadow they cast on all men. The "kindness = seduction?!" part is really showing this.

once when i was just being nice to a guy because he talked to me and i though he was okay to interact with, and he said he'd pay me if I gave him head after he asked me to smoke some weed with him..

To this day i am ashamed of myself for wearing a cosplay. I didnit twice. First time i was covered head to toe, getting cat called, teased, asked if i have the stamina if a rabbit. Just because i was cosplay a character that had rabbit ears. The second time i wore a button down that had one honorary button closed. I paraded my body at that convention, yet still hiding under rhe leather coat. And i had no man approach and ask if i have an onlyfans. If they did approach, it was to ask for a photo. Or ask if in okay. I was proud for those questions. It showed that ym hard work and more than an hour of makeup and prep was paying off.
