For any Catholics watching, there’s a visionary who was told by the Holy Souls that Goering eventually made it to heaven after time in purgatory.

You were very generous at his weight being at 260 pounds. But he had to be at least over 300 pounds. He was a big boy

Interesting title. Did they eventually capture Hitler's number two, or is it just a myth that they keep it in a jar somewhere in the tallest tower on the highest mountain?

All Goering had to do was wait until Hitler died and he would have been in charge, so foolish.

Yes, one thing I never understood was why Goering allowed himself to be placed in that situation. He as head of the Luftwaffe could have reserved two or three of the biggest long range aircraft as personal transports and prepositioned some "portable wealth" like gold and currency near each plane. As well as placing money in numbered Swiss accounts. The aircraft could have been heavily camoflaged or placed in protected bunkers or something. He would have had to conceal the preparations and make it seem like regular military preparations but he could have managed. Then bye bye to Argentina via Spain or the Canary Islands at the critical moment. Like the death of Hitler. Same with Himmler. The one Ju-380 or even one of the Ju-280s and maybe the BV-238 or one of the BV-222s. Five or six planes set aside. And if he was discovered he could have said that it was to whisk away Hitler and the other top Nazis to safety. Although if several of them were known to have escaped the Allies would have rightly been able to demand that Argentina turn them over.

But Hitler escaped to Argentina. Churchill doesn't even mention Hitler in the victory speech. Same with Stalin. Stalin mentions Hitler but not his death or suicide. They know he escaped. The Fuhrer bunker had secret escape tunnels. How could it not if it was the Fuhrer bunker.

Very good, I have a pair of his collar tabs, and high ranking armband and his golden party badge taken from one of his trunks at that castle by a member of the 36 assigned to guard his stuff. They opened one of his trunks and took souvenirs. And also got a SS armband from a SS officer.

Goering was instrumental in helping guide Hitler to power, and later with diplomacy in annexing Austria and Chech. But then came the war, which Goering certainly didn't want as he was content to live fat and happy. He was a terrible General - exaggerating his air-force's power and doing nothing to improve it's effectiveness. His own men later went on record about being thoroughly unimpressed with him as their leader.

During this excellent factual and insightful piece I had the impression of H.Goering as the spit of Captain Pugwash. The infamous greedy, coward pirate who loved booty but avoided the action.

What a strange time the end of the war was. You have a lightly armed, very modest group, driving directly into an SS held castle, and they kind of ignore each other. Then they arrest the #2 Nazi and leave him armed while they transport him around, until finally someone says 'hey this guy's a war criminal, maybe take his guns and decorations?'. Fascinating.

WW2 was the biggest fool's errand in history and Winston Churchill the biggest fool. For 500 years, Europe was mindful of Russia's westward expansion. Good Old Winnie bankrupted Britain to facilitate it and seized on concentration camps to justify it. Following Stalin's Allies' victory over common sense, 'rights' racketeers ran amok with the racial 'equality' scam, open borders, criminalisation of free speech. . . and anyone objecting to this is A Nazi Who Wants To Gas Six Billion Jews, resulting in today's librul dystopia. Post-Gaza, instead of putting up with any more Poor Jews schtick, confront it with their part in slave trades, serfdom and Stalinism - the most murderous tyranny in recorded history, courtesy of Lazar Kaganovich, Jakub Berman, Ana Pauker, Salomon Morel, Béla Kun, Mátyás Rákosi, Lev Bronstein, Helena Wolińska-Brus, Grigory Zinoviev, Genrikh Yagoda, Rudolf Slánský et al.
