Thank you!!! I was just thinking about this movie today
ОтветитьLucy was in a Three Stooges short, the Stooges are mistaken for football players.
ОтветитьJust recently discovered your channel. I've always enjoyed noir films and really enjoy your presentation. Commentary is great, plus the suit, smoke, and whiskey is a great touch.
ОтветитьThis movie is so good. Lucille Ball was brilliant. It was sure a treat to see Boris Karloff as the madman designer. I didn't know that he never legally changed his name. Thanks again Detective.
ОтветитьWell, this jem was hidden from me! Thank you Sir💞💞
ОтветитьErich von Stroheim played the Karloff role in the original Pièges film. There are a lot of differences, with the same underlying plot. The French style policing makes more sense in the original version. Robert Siodmak (Cry of the City, Criss Cross, File on Thelma Jordan) directed the original before he came to America. The taxi dancers' way of life was better illustrated in the first one, but the original completely lacked the element of Baudelaire.
ОтветитьMs Ball and husband Mr Arnez besides the Lucy Show series later in the 60's produced such great TV Series as The Untouchables, Mission Impossible and Star Trek through DeziLu Studios making them very wealthy indeed.
ОтветитьLucy Ball was fabulous in this one Detective.
Thanks for uploading.
Cheers...!
This was a great movie. It was nice to see Lucy in something else. She is a very funny actress.
ОтветитьNew Subscriber! Will share!!
ОтветитьI was searching for this movie for at least 3 years! Thank you so much🥰🥰🥰 This is a great film noir. And merry christmas to you 🌲😇🙏
ОтветитьGreat cast, including Alan Napier, who played Alfred "the Butler" in the Batman TV Series in the late '60's.
ОтветитьThis is a really good movie. Lucy brought me here but everyone in the movie is really good. And the movie builds, the last 10 minutes are really great. Sets are great. And the commentary at the beginning, middle and end are as good as it gets.
ОтветитьWe love Lucille Ball, FMM, and the Detective (and his excellent comments). Thank you for presenting classic Hollywood movies WITHOUT ANY ADS. You are the best.
ОтветитьJust a side note on Thurl Ravenscroft...he was also the voice of Tony the Tiger on the Kellog's Frosted Flakes Cereal Commercial ... " They're Grrrrrreat"!
ОтветитьTop of the morning to ya, pal. Lucille Ball was.....of course......great in this move and Boris Karloff really shines with his acting skills. What can I say about Boris....just like Frankenstein..they don't make them like that anymore.
Thanks for mentioning Lucy's home town of Jamestown, NY. They have a Lucile Ball / Desilu museum there. Inside, there's a replica of the New York apartment they used in " I Love Lucy", and they have many of her personal items there on display including her wardrobes. You can look it up on line. I consider that south western region of NY state my home too although I wasn't born there.
Anytime I'm heading north through Ohio, heading back up there, I get this huge " Welcome Home" feeling. Someday, I hope..
Another classic film you presented well, and amazing quality. Thanks again.
I knew this was going to be a good movie when I saw that Josephine Sweeney was the hair stylist.🙄
ОтветитьExcellent film. The acting was phenomenal. The plot had me in suspense to the end.
ОтветитьHello Mr. Detective... I just saw this movie...TOTALLY EXCELLENT...Gracious... Dramatic...Intellectually Suspenseful...Thank you for posting it...Keep up the good work...Take care...
