This is going to bomb. The book material may not be like Harry Potter but this movie will be so cookie cutter and Harry Potter like…just Ugggh. Sorry, I just don’t enjoy the Potter movies. Long drawn out exercises in nothing to see here wrapped in pretty visuals. Didn’t mind the first Fantastic Beasts movie but the latest one of those was shockingly bad.

let me guess. The white girl thinks she's going to be the hero and the black girl thinks she's going to be the villain of her story but twist! The black girl is the hero and the white girl is somehow manipulated into being the bad guy by some evil "Thing?". At the finial moment the black girl is able to save her friend through the power of friendship showing that the school is BS and no one has to be a hero or villain if they don't want to be bla, bla, blaa.

If its not that then i suspect the school has a conspiracy where they force people down certain paths.

Tell me if i'm hot or cold someone who read the book.

I loved the books. I just finished the trilogy. Reading them back to back made it feel like a Groundhog Day book (which i generally dislike bc it makes me feel claustrophobic, stuck in the same story) where three characters change places and roles btw princess/prince/witch, btw lover/ennemy/best_friend.. It was like the writer experimented with the concepts of fairytales seeking the best composition over and over again. Because of that, the first book was my top favorite. If i were more patient i would've enjoyed all the books equally, i'm sure. As a feminist who s fond of fairytales, i ve always loved the modern retellings of these stories with new perspectives.. So i naturally loved these books. Not surprising as the author had his harvard thesis on why female villains in fairytales have so much appeal..

I was waiting for Cate's appearance, I think I must have mistakenly read the article!! I just got my hopes up for no reason 😭 Is she one of the teachers?? or The Narator? it sounds like her, Cate Blanchett....

I looked it up, and apparently, Disney's Descendants came out 2 years after the first book in this series did. However, the TV show Once Upon a Time debuted 2 years before the book.

If I didn't have the sound on I'd think it was Harry Potter related.

So the book came out today and it's supposed to be based off or tied into this Netflix movie. Yes I do know that the book series came out years ago but I kinda of want to buy the book to see if they keep some things the same or different
