ОтветитьI left Peterborough in 1963, have been back over the years since to visit family, most recent 2 years ago. I hardly recognized George Street! Everything in this video is unrecognizable! So disappointed. Great place to grow up in the 40’s, 50’s, but not so much now. Would never go back to live!😥
Ответитьhome sweet home but i live in P.G B.C now and i love it
ОтветитьMr Doughnut used to be across the street on Lansdowne/Parkway from McDonalds.... we'd walk through the Cameron St woods to get there and spend the afternoon playing arcade games.... Now the Cameron street woods is Costco. Mr Doughnut is a gas station
ОтветитьPeterborough was a Canadian manufacturing hub in the 50s, 60s and 70s. It never regained that prowess after the Trudeau Sr. imposed severe recession of the early 80s. Remember Outboard Marine, De Laval, WestClocks, CGE, Nashua Paper, RayBestos, Canada Packers and Quaker Oats? It once had two very efficient hospitals, St. Josephs and Civic; it once had three profitable indoor shopping malls, Peterborough Square, Lansdowne Place and Portage Place with many chain and Canadian anchor stores. A vibrant and creative music, arts and theatrical incubator of local and worthy talent. It's now a liberal induced cesspool of welfare addicts, woke and cancel-culture loving local and provincial gov't minions, and globalist agenda sheep. It will take a generation to reclaim it.
ОтветитьNice Video! 🙂… One important Street section you missed… the very Core of Downtown, George Street, from the City Hall to Riley’s. 😦
ОтветитьMan this is depressing.
