I recently blasted through the fleetway comics for the first time, and yes it was because of fleetway super sonic from the fnf mod, and this storyline had me losing my mind. Every page i was going WHAT? WHAT?!?!? It was truly a wild ride and super cool. When i read in the encylo-speed-ia that the metal sonic fight was inspired by the arc, it made me so happy to see!!

Also as any characters itd be cool for you to cover, it'd be awesome if you could cover Tekno? Especially since Nigel Kitsching gave her and amy a romantic ending via an epilogue for sonic the comic online. It really put Tekno and Amy's adventures into a new light for me, and itd be awesome to see that talked about. Tekno might be my favorite sonic comic character, only tied with tangle and whisper.

Now metallix lives on through mecha sonic as a transformation

everybody gangsta till the robot becomes sentient and creates a army

I also like the fact that Alvin earthworm made metalix look like the the fleet way version with a little bit of modification

It’s important to note that the Metallix seen in Super Mario Bros. Z is functionally just Turbo Mecha Sonic. I assume the change was made because the sprite used fits the reboot’s better animation more than the Mecha Sonic sprite.

The converted Miracle Planet reminds me of Apocalypse, the home world of Darkseid from DC comics; those fire pits are one its most defining traits. It looks like Fleetway's team drew inspiration from comic history from both sides of the pond

My Headcanon: because I think Fleetway Sonic would sound like a British version of the OVA Sonic (aka, the one that says the “Strange isn’t it?” Meme), I like to think that the Metallix sound like the Daleks, as you have mentioned that they are inspired by them. That and the two voice actors sound similar.
You can easy edit the phrase “ALL HAIL THE DALEKS!” Into “ALL HAIL METALLIX!” (I just think it’s funny)

As the Metallix Emperor? I think he’d sound like Neo Metal Sonic. Specifically, the slightly deeper voiced versions seen in fanmade IDW comic dubs or in the Sonic Forces: Overclocked mod.

I can’t believe that the brotherhood seems to be getting some sort of adaptation in the movie verse if that end-credit scene is anything to go off.

The uk sonic comic truly was special, it kinda messes with me when i see sonic characters from other regions, because the uk comic counterparts are just so different, and their sources of inspiration are also very different.

I knew about the Doctor Who inspiration for the Emperor/The Brotherhood, but I always thought the Emperor himself was a little bit Master Mold from the X-Men too

The Brotherhood Of Matalex reminds me of The Brotherhood of Makuta from lego Bionicle.

I would honestly kill for a new game based on some of the Fleetway story beats. The Fleetway comics will always have a special place in my mind for being so bizarre and unique, simultaneously taking every aspect of these games so serious and literally, while also taking insane liberties to create new stories. It's so fun to watch the comic evolve over time: from shitty doodles and lazy stories to some of the coolest thr series has to offer.

I think Doctor Who revival kind of took some ideas from the Metallix UK story, mainly how the Emperor is presented for the Dalaks, being a massive Dalek shell surounded by lots of normal Daleks similar to how the leader of the Metallix was presented in the comic!

Wait, is this why the metallix alien species in Sonic X were changed into the metarex in the english dub?

this is my hope for the next mainline sonic film,
opening up one of the future films for Fleetway Super.
and the fact Sega HAVE acknowledge both gives me A LOT more hope!!!

Do you think the Paramount films have also taken inspiration from Sonic the Comic? While I initially thought of Sonic Heroes and the Shadow android army, The Sonic 3 end credits scene definitely evokes thoughts of the Brotherhood of the Metallix!
