Evangelical means you don't follow the teachings of Jesus. You rarely ever talk about Jesus's parables. You rarely ever quote from the Gospels other than John 3:16. You worry more about how you look and dress then how you act. You are very self-centered and self-righteous, and the only reason you believe in Jesus is because you want to go to heaven. I am an evangelical apparently lol i beleive the word of God is true and i also think evelution is garbage but i dont think it is okay go just write off science. You skipped over whole historical periods in which religious evangelism was closely bound to other forms of social experimentation, such as the temperance movement. And you mention the Cold War, but somehow forgot to say that Communist countries persecute Christians.

Jerry Falwell was one of the most contemptible people of the 20th Century. His corruption of Christianity is a more reprehensible betrayal of the message of Christ than anything an atheist ever came up with. You also forget to mention the party shift. Christian white southerners was overwhelming Democrat for much of the 20th ceuntry. Lyndon B Johnson and Jfk had shifted the democrat party to be more pro-minority which created a shift in southern politics. Republicans had became more active in getting southern white Americans on board. Nixon had a good start but Carter still had a large southern base. Regan almost won the whole nation in both elections, and Clinton still maintained half the south in 1992. White Evangelicals started becoming more distant with the democrat party by the late 20th ceuntry thus becoming solidly Republican over the last 30 years.

Racism became less of an issue with white evangelicals since many of them grown up in a post Jim crow world, but there's still a segregation among black and white evangelicals. Many Christians on both camps lived in different worlds since black evangelicals leaned more urban while white evangelicals leaned more rural/suburban. Issues of police brutality, underfunded schools, and violent crime plauged black evangelicals more. Thus created a divide that was more subtile and cultural to more aggressive by the mid 2010s with the aftermath of Micheal Brown and Eric Gardner.


Black Christians were now at odds because the party that they held on to for decades had shifted into neo-marxism. Many black evangelicals still supported the democratic party post-Obama due to the more divise nature of Trump. Hoverever that's starting to shift now I 2024. Where black and white evangelicals are starting to become more united with anti-maxism, and anti police brutality. I think time will tell if black and white evangelicals will vote the same in large margin, but Hispanics have now become more conservative in the past decade.

The video should be titled "What is an American Evangelical". American Evangelicals are part of the Evangelical world, but certainly not a majority. Evangelicals in other countries are unconcerned and often unaware of most of the controversies mentioned in this video.
