I have a folder named BankStatPDF that contains one Excel file named ConsolBS and two PDF bank statements named BankStatementMay and BankStatementJune.
I transformed the BankStatementJune PDF file using Power Query in the ConsolBS worksheet, and it worked perfectly. However, when I changed the source file from BankStatementJune to BankStatementMay, I encountered the following error:
Expression.Error: The key didn't match any rows in the table.
Details:
Key=
Id=Table001
Table=[Table]
Note: The PDF file BankStatementJune has 9 pages, so it was converted into 7 tables in Power Query. The PDF file BankStatementMay has only 3 pages. The format and bank statement details are the same for both files, and they are from the same bank.
The Power Query editor has created 7 query tables of these 9 pages for BankStatementJune. I appended them into a new query named "Statement," so I now have a total of 8 queries. All of these 7 query tables showing the same error except the "Statement" query, which displays:
An error occurred in the ‘Table001 (Page 2)’ query. Expression.Error: The key didn't match any rows in the table.
Details:
Key=
Id=Table001
Table=[Table]
Please guide me on how to fix this error.
Note: The PDF file BankStatementJune is used to transform data in power query that has 9pages so it converted into 7tables. The PDF file BankStatementMay have only 3pages. rest the format and bank statement are same and of one bank.

I am aware of the single file workaround with "= Pdf.Tables(File.Contents....", but is is only for a single file. Is there away to add multiple files?
Does not work with my copy of Excel 365. Data\Get Data\Get Data From File causes Excel to freeze almost from the moment I click on it. I tried clearing the Power Query cache but that didn't help. And in the most recent versions of Excel 365, Microsoft removed the option to disable hardware acceleration, so I can't do that either.

ОтветитьGreat video and explaination. However my stand alone install (v2016) NOT 365, does not have the intial choices of file types. PDF is not in the list.
Downloading the the msi and reinstalling is redundant as the installer tells me immediately it is already installed. So I sense I am missing something. How do I configure to expose the same choices as your video.
This is a great option for me as I currently use Powershell scripts, for the the same task which is very tedious. Can anyone help here.

ОтветитьI was trying this data but when ur pdf table values are long for example stanfordhospital university. When u try to transform data it gets adjusted in 2-3 rows in excel and whole data gets overlapped or chaotic

ОтветитьGreat video and tutorial Kevin. I've just been introduced to this pdf to excel feature and want to use it to grab my monthly bank statements and insert into excel. However, my pdfs usually consist of two pages and 3 or 4 tables. The first one is irrelevant as it consists of my account, name, balances and various notes and comments. The actual data I want is in the other ones. Could you do a demo on how to do something like that?
The idea of automatically adding a new month's worth of data is very exciting.

For a one page simple invoice this is fine. I have never experienced a single page simple invoice in my entire career and unfortunately this video was not helpful.
ОтветитьHi Kevin, This is great, in my PDFs there are rows not in every single PDF, for example particular item is not sold on every invoice, when it's missing, I get error column not found. how to handle that type or error?
