Dont thin making the engines smaller was a great idea.....keep the 1000cc but restrict fuel flow....as now WSBK have a bigger engine and will be viewed by casual viewers as the pinacle as they are more road relevant

Thanks for a MotoGP video and for the regulations change i am not a fan bcs od the smaller engines and when i heard i thought what about Wsbk the will have very close lap times but i found out they will also change the rules heh

I was hoping for a big simplification on aerodynamics, but the narrower box will have to do. Also, reducing bore might make inline 4 more competitive againgst the V4s!

Dorna said they wanted more road bike "association" but 850cc is not a engine volume that really have been widely used on road bikes or in racing before, why not just go down to 750cc... big mistake just get it down to 750cc as it is an engine volume in motorcycle racing with lots of racing pedigree.

MotoGP aero wars are my favorite part. Wish F1 would take a page out of their hand book and add more above car aero

I am quite excited for the changes. I feel like the racing we got end of last season and this season so far has been really good. And the new regulations are close enough to the current state of the bikes that I think it will change what it wants to but nothing more. Which is good.

If they really think the aero is spoiling the head to head racing, like it does in F1, it just proves that these dim bulbs have never watched a MotoGP race.

They should've reduced the minimum weight by a more meaningful amount. These bike's won't be any more nimble than the current ones.

I’ve never watched much of anything outside of F1, but I always hate hearing restrictions being put in place. Imagine if the regulators said F1 cars were too fast, then today F1 would be as slow as gt3 cars!

I'm not a fan of these rule changes, but heck, they're a million times better than F1 changes have been. I'm saddened knowing that the remaining years i have to watch F1 is not limited by my age, but limited by the number of years until rule changes make it unappealing.

they didn't restrict the crazy aero enough. the rear wings and all the smaller winglets like on the forks needed to be banned

Just reduce engines per season from seven to two. (and you can't rebuild them, making it basically one engine power bike and a spare in case something goes wrong) That'll slow those bikes down for sure. And the homologation bones will be closer to the race bikes, which is what everybody really wants out of the sport anyway.

I'd like to have seen aero devices like wings removed because it has no practical application for road bikes.

The GPS data availability is definitely a good move. Reasonable reduction of the aero package is also probably a good thing, except for rear homologation thing. Reduction of the fuel tank is OK, I guess. But downsizing the engines is entirely wrong decision! The last time the MotoGP did that they failed, and had to revert back. And this was back in the days of the peak popularity of the liter sportbikes. Nowadays one liter engine capacity considered to be too small by the byers - they prefer bigger engines. That's why Ducati and Aprilia are selling 1100 cc sportbikes, and these are considered the best sportbikes currently on the market. KTM just upsized their top naked bike to 1349 cc from 1301 cc. Even adventure bikes has 1300 cc now. The entire motorcycle market are shifting towards bigger and more powerful engines - because that's what buyers of the high-end bikes wants. Meanwhile, MotoGP decided to go exactly the opposite way. That's clearly a wrong decision. FIA wanted to make MotoGP bikes less powerful and slower? They could have easily achive this by decreasing max availible rpm (which would decrease fuel consumption as well), and making the bikes to switch from the RON 102 race fuel to the standard RON 100 or RON 98 pump gas. They could have also decrease max bore, and ban pneumatic valves. As you can see, there is a lot of ways of decreasing power without downsizing engines displacement. But FIA chose none of them. What a shame! And by the way, trying to make racing slower is a wrong move in the first place. Going against natural technical progress is always wrong.

Gobsmacked! How many fatalities have we had in MotoGP…..Dare I say it More riders @TT are killed. Do they close the race or restrict bikes no… BTW this racing goes over the entire world how is it 2 of the DORNA board has 2 family members and several other family members involved. This decision can’t be made by people with vested interest in broadcasting rights internationally, international representation must come from several countries not tied into 4 members reigning from Spain and Italy. FYI DORNA recently sold to Liberty Media (F1) for ~18 billion dollars….. Dorna has made their money they don’t care about MotoGP… Simply disgusting

I whish we could go back to 125, 250, and 500 we no electronics and normal bikes with no mustache just for the sake of aerodynamics.

Since they are prototypes there should be little to no restrictions to bikes development so that to see different technical solutions to the same problem like those we were used to see at the older times, the riders will develop new techniques as they did so far, otherwise all bikes in the end will tend to be the same
