Exploring Bielsko-Biała Poland (this place is AWESOME)

Wow. Bielsko - Biała is not even for Poles the obvious destination to visit! Cool guys!

I was born in this city 73 years ago. It was a hell hole. Chimney stacks from factories spilling soot. All buildings were black. Textile factories were working 24/7 making famous British wool fabrics for suits with side writing: Made In England. The river flowing thru town had different color every day depending on color of fabric produced. The smell from the river was terrible. Factory making margarine was dumping scrap to it. River was dead. The city was so crowded with people coming from all over area to work in factories that walking on sidewalks was difficult. Gangs. Violence. Today Bielsko is a museum piece, not a real town. By the way I worked making cartoon movies which characters are shown now as monuments in Bielsko. My name as cinematographer is on 80 titles. In 1978 I moved to USA. Would I go back? No.

I think this may be the first video I've seen from you both, I like your no nonsense approach to making it. Many times I won't even watch videos by especially younger people who have no concept of where they even are visiting and consequently say some pretty giddy/stupid things.

im from western Poland, but you ask about places who we like an they are dont in foreginers "menu". In my mind, the most lovely place like this is : Zamość city! this place is stunning (for me) its sad you where so close and dont visit Zamość, but you mention about to visit maybe Kazimierz Dolny in Olsztn video, so you gona be close again. If you chave a chance i believe i worth to visit place too. I know many smaller places to visit but ont know you goa lke it, but zamos is defeniteli worth to show by you eyes. Cheers

Thanks for visiting my home town! I'm happy you liked it so much. Bielsko-Biała used to be a very industrial city in the past and one of its nicknames (apart from "Little Vienna") was "Silesian Manchester" because of the abundance of textile factories there. I don't live in Bielsko-Biała anymore (moved into the countryside a few years ago) but I still love to pay it a visit once in a while and have a coffee at the old market square.

I've never been to this city... Oh, wait, I lied. 😀I've been there, but only to pick up another train, so I've never had a proper tour in Bielsko-Biała, I've only seen a train station. This city is so beautiful!

Also, I'm so proud that you can see Ukraine's flag in every city. We have some really nasty common history, there were many times when these two nations have done terrible things to one another. But in the time of need you can feel that Slavic solidarity, Ukrainian people are our Slavic brothers and Poland welcomed them with open arms.

I'm really ashamed that our gov. doesn't extend this hospitality toward other refugees, it's really bad and I hope that it will change in the future. But at least we did very well when it came to helping our Slavic neighbors. So, yeah, I have a lot of criticism about Polish immigration politics, but I can appreciate that we did so much for the Ukrainian people.

In this food stand behind u they serve my favourite street food ever which is “bułka z pieczarkami”, hot dog bap filled with spiced fried mushrooms. I haven’t seen it anywhere else which makes it uniquely considered with my beloved hometown ❤️

I love Bielsko Biala. We where there in june. My neighbour woman comes from there and is born in Bielsko. In November 2021 I was there for the first time. I was immediality in love with this city. 26 October I will go there for a few days. We sleeping at the house of the parents. In 2024 I will go to live there and enjoy my life after a workfull life.

Kotlet Mielone is like a German Frikadelle but the Poles do coat it whit breadrumbs before they fry it

About churches, in Katowice is one very beautiful basilica, name of it is Bazylika św. Ludwika Króla i Wniebowzięcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny (Basilica of St. King Louis and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary) and it's in Panewniki district. If you will be again in Poland in christmas time, I recommend go there and see Europe's largest altar nativity scene built inside a temple, I'm not christian, but even for me it's something amazing. There are also some small narivity scenes from different countries, even from african countries, and also living nativity scene, that means some animals. This basilica have also big green calvary, beautiful place. :)

Komunizm zrobił z Polaków dziadów. Faktycznie, takich budek z lichym żarciem było wiele. Od 1991 roku zrobiliśmy wielki postęp cywilizacyjny. Nigdy nie zapomnieliśmy, jakim pięknym krajem była Polska przed 1939 rokiem. Niszczył nas faszyzm, dobił nas komunizm. Trzeba było mieć wielki zapał, siłę woli żeby Polsce przywrócić dawny jej charakter. Serdecznie dziękuję za wszasze cudowne filmy. Zabawne - ja Polka nie byłam w Bielsku Białej. Zachęciliście mnie do wycieczki.🙃

My wife is from a small village on the outskirts of Bielsko-Biała , and went to school there. Now living in Scotland when we go home we always have a day out in Bielsko-Biała. a hidden gem amongst many beautiful city's in Poland. great to see it getting recognised in your channel.

I need some help with visiting Bielsko-Biala if you or anyone can help?

I'll be travelling in by train and staying for 2nts. I'll arrive at around 4pm and leaving at about 9am. The first day I'd like to just explore the town and eat/drink out. The second day I'd like to rent a bike and get the cable car up into the mountains and explore there. Evening just chill and maybe eat out again.

Where is the best place to stay? I'm open to either hotel or AirBnB. Looking at the map it looks like it would be nicer to stay down by the mountains but I'll be on the clock in the morning so will have to rely on a taxi to get back to the station.

I lived in Bielsko-Biała for few months and I do think that this place is a "grajdół", meaning it's a shit hole.

I was born in Bielsko Biala and I know all the streets and great Buildings also the hills Great town.
