This was one of my earlier theories too, but after hearing so many details from others who have done very deep research on this case I lean more towards the son accidentally killing her in a fit of anger. He might have not even really realized he did, (he was young) but just thought he hurt her. Then as the parents covered up the situation the son even believed their narrative. As he aged I think he put the pieces together.

S.B.T.C. = saved by the cross. Patsy was a Christian and believed any sin is forgivable and covered by Jesus’ death and resurrection.

I’m reading “and hence.” “a earlier” that’s a period after “and hence.” and “a earlier” in the ransom note. You didn’t point out the incorrect punctuation of the period after “and hence”, and you were saying “an earlier” when the note says “a earlier” which is also incorrect. Gramatically correct would be as you said it “an earlier”, but the ransom note says “a earlier”.

I was just thinking something. Maybe that was the motivation of them calling so many people and the police right away. The letter said that if they call the police or talked to a stray dog, JB would die. So this way it would look like the kidnappers were watching and still in the house, saw them call the police THEN killed JB when they knew the child was dead in the basement. Your points on the writing style is right on.

I think your analysis is great but I saw another analysis that makes more sense to me. The last paragraph sounds like Patsy is threatening John to stay the course. In other words, they have something big on each other. That theory says John or Burke were with JBR in a compromised situation, Patsy found them, either had or grabbed the flashlight and swung it either John or Burke but hit JBR in the head. Im not saying this is the answer but it seems more plausible.

I run a closed JBR forum. Application only. Her demise is an SA case. Maybe we could talk. Or Live. Because this case is so big and yes others involved. I stand with the smothered voice of the Grand Jury.

Burke absolutely did not kill her. He too was a victim yet very different.

Really enjoyed your insightful analysis of the note, I can't believe there was an intruder given the way they acted and acted and acted. They should have been in fear for their lives and incredibly cooperative with police. I agree with the buried grand jury indictments against John and Patsy and that the person they were protecting was Burke. I think Burke was responsible for the accident that killed Jon Benet. He nearly killed her with a golf club when she was 4yo. If not Burke then I believe detective Steve Thomas was probably right to think Patsy. I can't imagine writing 3 pages in the middle of the night after JB is dead. That's not only calm, cool, cold, collected and sinister but narcissistic. I think John wanted to confess, "hence" don't try to grow a brain John.

Great breakdown but no way anyone “ broke in”. This was impossible given the lack of any evidence and undisturbed spider web in window. This was without a doubt an inside job. Boulder was the pedo capital of America at that time. This was a microcosm of what was happening

The childish content of the ransom note show that it wasn't written by an adult.
The only non adult there was Burke.
And if he wrote it, its reasonable to assume he committed the crime too.
Burke's interview with Dr Phil is revealing.

Chris, just found you! I love words❤. I am a “hence” person. It is one of my favorite words and I use it whenever possible. No one in my circle of family and friends uses it. I think it is a very important clue. Your analysis of the Jon Ben’et ransom note is very interesting and answered several questions I had. This is truly the most confusing case I have ever heard. I have ended up with an incomplete determination. (1) I am positive there were no kidnappers and no kidnappers wrote the ransom letter. Kidnappers don’t leave unnecessary evidence behind and leave the victim behind too, dead or alive. (2) The Ramsey’s were totally unconcerned with following the directives or informing the police of the directives contained in the letter even though they were warned their daughter would be beheaded if their demands were not met. I can understand calling the police, but calling half the neighborhood, NO. (3) I don’t believe the Ramsey’s inflicted the violent, grotesque wounds on their daughter. (4) I do not believe that Burke stayed in his room with the lights off the entire time all this commotion happened until he was finally taken away. (5) I do not see any evidence of an intruder. I see lots of evidence in the form of unexplainable facts by the family ie; the cup of tea with fingerprints, the bowl of pineapple with fingerprints and most unexplained, pineapple in Jon Benet’s stomach! So where does that leave me?

No way an intruder could navigate thru that house and “kidnap” jbr. The fecal matter spread on chocolate and in jbr’s bed tells me Burke had some serious emotional problems. Anger, sudden explosions triggered by jbr’s invading his space, doing something, saying something. His involvement is much more likely that a phantom visitor with the ability to move in, escape, undetected.

She's the only one who would have written the note and the only reason a person who writes like this wouldn't cut it out of magazines is that she didn't have time.

Patsy’s “flair” for extemporaneous drama (from her speech forensics days) kicked in to write an entire, situation-controlling narrative…and it went on and on and on…no longer a ransom note, but the believable framework of foreign terrorists targeting a massively unknown software company owner. Yes, she wrote it, no question. She was framing the narrative and, in it,warning John not to deviate from it one degree.

@peytonlucy5947
@peytonlucy5947 - 04.04.2025 09:03

Your analysis was insightful, but then your conclusion was bizarre. Patsy wrote the note to provide a variety of possible alternatives. Patsy's deposition in a civil trial strongly suggests that she wrote the note. One of the three family members killed her. Patsy couldn't change her clothes because she was wearing those clothes during the activity that led to the death. She and her husband needed to be seen making contact with the dead body to explain away any fiber evidence. They did not want to leave fingerprints on the ransom note. The risk that they took in having their son questioned indicates that Burke may not have known about the manner of death.

its so obvious that Patsy wrote the ridiculous note. My unsupported working theory has been that she added the nonsense about getting sleep and the large attache because they originally planned to try to sneak the body out in the suitcase and bury her and they wanted to have a good excuse if someone saw John carrying the heavy case. The sleep part was to give themselves time to dispose of the body the next day. Why they ditched the plan, well that's the weak part of my theory

Not a sadistic killer
He would not waffle on
With over dramatic words
Showing maternal instincts
It’s absurd
Patsy wrote it
It shows her personality
I use the word hence
It’s not that unusual
And exclamations !
Im a tad dramatic in my speech and Im Woman hence
It was Patsy

That's the best theory I've heard. I've never been comfortable blaming the family because of the manner and cause of death. A child Burke's age would not be strong enough and I don't see the parents doing that either. But the note was clearly written by Patsy. Your theory makes sense to me.

I've watched every video I thought there was on this case. In yours I've never heard the "hence" idea before. And your conclusion was the first time I had heard that as well, intruder accidentally killed her and they faked it. I thought that was also an interesting take. There is no doubt in my mind that Patsy wrote that note. In my opinion either an intruder did it (which it seems like there is a ton of evidence against that) or Burke did it by accident which seems plausible to me for only one reason. If I am the husband and my wife killed our daughter, ZERO forgiveness, you're getting locked up, vice versa if dad did it. I don' think one spouse would cover up for the other if either of them did it. I could be wrong, they both seem a little off.

Victory! Signed by the Captain is the way by which winners are congratulated and receive their certificates. John Ramsey was a competitive sailboat racer and participated in the elite Bayview Mackinac race in the summers of 1995 and 1996. The BPD seemed unaware of this.

Good analysis. It's become clear to me over the years that Patsy wrote the note with help from John, which points to someone in the house being responsible for the crime. If it was a parent who did it, the other parent would likely be outraged enough to point the finger at the other for the cops. The thing I think that makes two parents unite to lie like this is to protect a child.

There is no mystery. Just think a bit logic and include thinking of pedophiles.
John let someone abuse the girl, she got killed by accident, John put her in the basement, Patsi wrote the note to cover up. Everything is pointing to it.
Is there anything against this theory? Thank you
