Thank you for adding on the "nor should you" when talking about making people stay because it's absolutely true. If it went both ways they would have stayed, but they didn't. And that's just life.
This was something I had to learn in January 2020 and it's taken me two and a half years to get over it. I feel like I'm still working through the bitterness and shock. My best friend I'd known for ten years and had really been close to (like a sister) for four years, was my maid of honor at my wedding three months prior, very suddenly and angrily ended our friendship and never looked back. I never saw it coming, it was devastating, but I learned a lot from that experience and I agree with everything you've said.
Thanks for talking about it and being vulnerable enough to since I know this type of experience can hurt a lot.
Absolutely! When you find your person. Hold on tight. Happy for you!
ОтветитьBrilliant video! 👏👏
ОтветитьWould've absolutely loved to have worked with you on DYHTPS in Sydney, but super happy that you got a dream job offer instead!!
ОтветитьKeep Calm and Carrie On! =) <3 This is such a beautiful video. I needed this love. Thank you.
ОтветитьI haven't watched you in ages, but I'm so glad to see you absolutely thriving! I'm sorry to hear about your breakup and everything that happened with your last job, but I can't wait to see where you're going next!
What you said about friends showing up for you in the hardest times reminds me of when my mom passed away and my friend immediately had me over for two days of watching our favorite shows, coffee/wine days/nights, and dog cuddles. I didn't expect anything from anyone; I had planned on just going back to class after my cry and do my best to manage, but she and a few other friends really held me together during that time and I'll never forget the kindness they showed me. It's a reminder for me as well to always try to be kind, whether it's being nice to someone or helping when you can; you never know what someone is going through and those little things make such a difference.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your year! Thank you for always being such a positive force on the internet!
Loved everything you said in this video, but want to chime in that breakups are NOT trivial! Don't diminish your feelings around it. In general, don't diminish your feelings around any tragic incident that isn't literal death (which, yeah, sucks but there are other things one can be sad about.) This is for anyone who is reading this comment.
ОтветитьI love the hair colour carrie x
ОтветитьI have followed you for so long and I am so amazed by how you’ve grown and evolved ❤
ОтветитьSuch a beautiful video. U truly are an amazing inspiration. I hope u continue finding hapiness x
ОтветитьThis is just so honest, open and relatable! I turn 30 soon and I feel like I have had an epiphany this year and it stems from these very reasons! It’s the strangest feeling but I actually feel much better for it! Keep calm and ‘Carrie’ on 👌🏻😘 xxxxx
ОтветитьTell me why this made me cry
ОтветитьTook me a little while to get round to this, but the last part of this video fully broke me. Yes, I have been through some shit in my life but some of it is trivial in comparison to others but Carrie you are so right, all pain in valid. Thank you for everything you do.
ОтветитьThis is great 👍👏 well done. Your honesty and insight is so refreshing.
ОтветитьMy heart is swelling watching Carrie be so happy. You deserve it so much girl <3 we love you.
ОтветитьI love the energy of this video
ОтветитьCarrie, you have no idea how proud I am of you! I started watching you almost 10 years ago and I feel like I've grown up alongside you. Everything you said in this video hit me so hard and I feel so lucky to have watched you go through this journey and become to amazing person you are now <3
ОтветитьOh Carrie, you are just so amazing and I have so much love for you. Thankyou for this- thankyou so much x
ОтветитьI always view a break up (from a long term relationship at least) as on par with a death. Both result in the loss of a loved one, which is heartbreaking. As you say, all pain is valid. ❤️
ОтветитьI wanted to have kids at 25 when I was a lot younger, got to 22 and thought absolutely not I'm still a kid! Then I met my partner, a pandemic hit and lo and behold, I'm now 25 with an 18 month old! Wasn't expecting that to happen at all!
ОтветитьCarrie you truly have a heart of gold x Thank you so much for this beautiful video and I hope that the rest of this year treats you well ❤️
ОтветитьHOW DO YOU FIND SUCH LOVELY FIENDS????
Ответить‘Keep Happy’ is going to be my motto. Thanks Carrie, I needed to hear that 😃
ОтветитьCarrie, you're a few months older than me, I remember watching you with Mary Poppins on Children in Need way way back, thinking, hey she looks really cool, id love to do that! I got into amdram and still love musicals, although my life took a different route in the end. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed your first book, you are the slightly older sister I never had. Keep being amazing 👏
ОтветитьThis video made me emotional and it made me laugh - I love hearing you speak all your truths. You’re truly an inspiration and a role model! You deserve all the happiness in the world Carrie ❤
ОтветитьComing back to this after seeing 💍😭 I'M SOOOO HAAPPYYY!!!!
ОтветитьWhen you said "this is the rest of our lives", I started crying. Man. I've followed you since I was, what, maybe 14? So 8 years ago? And I've definitely dipped in and out, but-- and i know this is parasocial-- but I care about you and it's so lovely to hear that you feel that way. Every new relationship you've been in, which I believe from your videos has seemed better than the last, has made me so happy for you. Congrats on finding someone who makes you feel that way <3
ОтветитьThat’s what happened with my now husband. We became single at the same time and it was beautiful. Forever- 8 years, 2 kids and very much still in love.
ОтветитьThis is brilliant and thank you so much for your honesty 😊
ОтветитьYass red Carrie is a badddd bitch
ОтветитьI am happy to hear your lessons, wich apply to me too. 🙂 I am
Happy to hear you. I feel less alone. It feels good. Thank you ☺️
That’s actually helped me a lot about a breakup. Thank you!
ОтветитьI've missed you! You've grown up so much since I last watched your videos.
I'm thankful that you're you and that you're still here!
Can totally relate RE: dating apps. As a university professor in my 40s even though I block everyone under 30, quite a large number of the men I meet are friends/siblings/parents (!) of my current or former students and thus THINK they know me but really don’t. The person on the stage giving the lecture is not “me”, it’s a stage persona, essentially.
ОтветитьThis is the first video of yours I watched and I love how relatable you are even though your career is pretty wild! Off topic, but what foundation do you use and which shade? I have a similar skin tone and can never find a foundation that doesn’t oxidise etc
ОтветитьI am a huge fan of your work for the drama society. This was beautiful to see. You are an amazing, inspiring and beautiful actress. Please keep doing what you love whatever it is. Music, drama or anything else. Just be happy and remember that you are amazing. Thanks for inspiring me to be an actress.
ОтветитьI'm a bit late for this video, but weirdly I watched it at just the right time. I feel like my early 2022 self and my current self are completely different people, and I'm so so happy that you're here to put some of the things I was feeling into words, Carrie. Specially when it come to breakups and friendships. I've been through a couple breakups this year (which is a LOT considering they were my first couple relationships too), and I just knew I had to let go but it was so hard for some reason. I was also very lucky to have amazing friends who took me in and made things a bit easier. But hearing what I already knew deep down being put into words was like getting a heavy weight off my heart.
I've been watching your videos since 2012 maybe, and I'm so grateful to have found you so early because I feel like I grew up and learned a lot from you.
It's madness that this I video JUST NOW.
Happy New Year, Carrie! May 2023 be THE BEST YEAR YET. For all of us. <3
Please drink G&Ts more often. You become the Delphic Oracle. ;-)
ОтветитьI just love how vibrant she is here in every way 😊❤️
ОтветитьI love love the new hair ❤
ОтветитьYour words are always so beautiful
ОтветитьI cannot stop watching this video!! ❤️
ОтветитьIve watched you go through life since you were Eponine. ❤
My son now has a girlfriend. I told him about your break up , and how happy you are now, i think he secretly looks tbh
Edited to say his girlfriend suddenly ended their relationship at the same time your relationship ended and as a Mum i found it heart breaking too

All feelings and emotions are valid

And Joel will look after you always
My son is called Liam <3
What about the house you own now? I thought you intended that house to be the house you would live in for the rest of your life?
ОтветитьYou are surrounded by so much love it’s incredible I can only hope to somehow make friends like that in the future 🥹
ОтветитьMy love is for everything theatre, books and disney too!! All my friends are into things like anime and i feel like i dont fit into the group i just get ignored and i just have to stand there and agree. Coming to your videos at the end of a school day is the best. Seeing you do something you love on stage acting like someone else so naturally has kind of inspired me to read more and go to theatre (within the last 3 yrs after lockdown i have really gotten into musical theatre and ive seen a total of 10 shows) all worh either my cousin,my mum, my aunt, my nan or all of the above.
ОтветитьI hope you realise just how good this video is. I've just turned 24 and feel like I'm stumbling though life trying to figure out how to be a grown up. And just listening to your advice really made me feel like this is something that will figure itself out. It made me realise how much we all learn by just living. Feel like these are the advice I would have gotten from an older sister, if I had one, and I really appreciate you sharing these<3
ОтветитьI think I needed this video at this time in my life. I’m almost 22 and about to graduate uni and all of a sudden I have to actually think about what I’m going to do next.
This video echoes a lot of the lessons my Mum would tell me; resilience, emotional vampires, giving less of a fuck as you get older, never EVER taking a job for money over comfort/passion (she made me promise I wouldn’t!!) and much more. But I deffo needed to hear all of it said in a row to remind me that I already have everything I need to move forward and the future doesn’t need to be scary and unknown! And even if I do get scared, that’s not something to be ashamed of and I can, in fact, do it anyways!!
I’m always so happy to see the glimpses of Carrie’s life with her wonderful husband and baby girl. You simply love to see it!
