Ответитьso what speaker the cascade fat head aiming to?? the v30? or t75?
ОтветитьTry it with kt66 tubes,it sounds even better.
ОтветитьHi Whats the year of your amp and cab ? Thanks
ОтветитьYou sold me Lean. No doubt she comes alive at that moment in time like flipping a switch. I just bought one right now this minute ago a Marshall B-Stock from the factory. Can't wait to get it. Its no wonder all the lush tones when getting to and past that sweet spot. It has alot of valves for a 30 Watt and they all bring in some magic.
ОтветитьThank you for that Leon! However, the one thing that isnt translating over Y/T is the feel of that GZ34 rectifier tube unfortunately.
ОтветитьTinnitus is not fun
ОтветитьAll the way up or nothing. I saw the look on your face.
ОтветитьI don’t think those single coil pickups are giving the amp what it wants. Just my opinion.
ОтветитьIf you’re not there in person, you just can’t get the feel of a dimed amp. These videos just can’t do them justice.
ОтветитьI'm new to the channel - nice video, I appreciate your style. I've got one of these (a '74) and play it with the channels jumped. Once you get past 3 on the volume it is obscenely loud - and gorgeous sounding. Thanks again.
ОтветитьHow hard would it be to show the actual settings?
ОтветитьOne of those amp with a 1 or 2x12 is pretty fun.
ОтветитьWhats with the lecture, play the thing already
ОтветитьI think it sounds wonderful dimed on the bridge. Also at 7.
ОтветитьI have one answer to those equating volume with masculinity: Pete Townshend.
ОтветитьSounds good, but which JTM45 is this ? hard wired? Reissue (of course) ? what decade is it from? KT66's ?
ОтветитьHi Leon, thank you for this really cool video! One question: What do you recommend for getting the volume of this beast controllable without loosing the sound characteristics of high loudness settings? Using a power soak for example?
ОтветитьEven with ear pro, sitting that close and having it cranked is still going to damage your ears.
ОтветитьNice video. Ear protection doesn't get the attention needed in these demos so kudos. Have you had a chance to play your jtm45 into a 412 with greenbacks or an open back 212 with gbs? With a les paul it is blissful. Something I do to compare relative volumes in these amps is all knobs noon and volumes full up. I use the guitar volume starting on off and slowly turn up to get the true sense of clean loud from any nonmaster volume amp (earplugs of course). This way I know my headroom on an amp and setting on guitar to clean up.
Thanks for your demo.
put it in an isolation!
ОтветитьTinnitus is not a joke, kids. Wear ear protection!
Ответитьwhith 30 w amp and 5 watt you need a power reducer to play at home and be at the sweet spot when it crunch ! then turn the volume down of the guitar and good clean tone ! to make the valves amp section work well ! whith a low volume !!! cheers friends
Ответить2 o'clock, nice
ОтветитьGreat demo as usuall Leon and I play in front of a jvm with a 1960 cab and .....hearing protection
ОтветитьThe JTM45 is, in my estimation, the greatest guitar amp design ever made. That unique mixture of American Rock and Roll earthy twang and British soulful grit is just perfect.
ОтветитьSounded small as hell I must say...surprised
ОтветитьThe tone @ 2 o' clock ROCKS !!
ОтветитьI give you a negative because u r on someones
ОтветитьThe old classic JTM45 is still the heart and soul of both Marshall and rock as we know it. Angus Young still uses one in fact! An awesome amp you have sir and you make it sing.
On the topic of hearing protection? Yeah, im with ya there. I have spent a lot of time in front of cranked Marshalls sans earplugs and while it sounds awesome and you can literally FEEL the power, it comes at a mighty cost. There are times at the age of 37, i get the random ringing in my ears, which is utterly stupid on my behalf and shouldnt be happening. Protect your ears people!!
1959 plexi!
ОтветитьI always play with my unplugged iem in my ears and extra ear protection when I crank my amp beyond 12 o clock. I already have bad hearing due to playing loud music while wearing earphones and Im not taking any chances.
ОтветитьGot permanent tinnitus and hyperacusis in my early 20s. People will make jokes about not wearing earplugs till they blow up their ears. Go look at how many tinnitus sufferers go into depression, some even commit suicide. Tinnitus is more than just permanent noise in your head 24/7, you also experience pain in your ears, you can no longer enjoy playing a amp that is turned up to a good volume. I had to give up playing with a drummer, playing in bands. Don't be as stupid as I was, if you enjoy playing guitar then wear earplugs if you have to turn your amp up to ear bleeding volumes. Once you have damaged your ears there is absolutely no way to fix them again. There is nothing you can do about it. There are no cures for tinnitus, and no painkillers to take away the pain from having hyperacusis. You have been warned.
ОтветитьDon't be a dickhead?, don't be a pussy. If you go deaf from playing a jtm45 on 10 for 5 min, youuur aa biiitch.
ОтветитьI wear etymotic earplugs every time I play an even kind of loud amp. They're like a pretty decent condom for your eardrums. Actually, it kind of makes the amp sound better, because it filters out a lot of the harsh frequencies.
Ответить"Don't be a dickhead". Love it.
ОтветитьBest amp ever but for 500 squid the DSL40 is amazing. Plays equally well at very low and high volumes. Best amp i've ever had. Better (for me) with humbuckers than single coils but heh, that's just me.
ОтветитьNigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and…
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it’s louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it? It’s not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You’re on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you’re on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
Marty DiBergi: I don’t know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don’t you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: (pause) These go to eleven.
Yep. We used to have 100 watt Marshalls at back yard party and hall gigs here in Auckland in the late 80s. Could not get away with that kind of volume these days. My ears have rung with tinnitus ever since. It just got worse and worse. Now at night when I crash out it sounds like jet engines at the airport. I do not trust my ears knowing what a good tone is.
ОтветитьGawd I hate the sound of an overdriven strat. Can you do this with ANYTHING with a humbucker, please?
ОтветитьIf someone's tone truly sucks consistently, usually being way too bright, it's because it sounds OK to the player but he blew his upper frequency hearing. So we ALL get to lose our highs. If you're stupid, that is.
When we learn how to make our ears repair themselves, it'll be a different story. But that's not where we are now.
I need this amp in my life. It would sound awesome through my Zilla fat boy 2x12 with v30s. 🤤 Nice demo Leon.
ОтветитьHi Leon, Always like your videos. I have a Ceriatone JTM45 bluesbreaker amp and the most that I crank the amp up to is about 8 in the bright channel. I'm just curious, what valves do they put in that Marshall, 6L6's or KT66 ? I read the other day ,that Greg Germino of Germino amplification in the States, was saying that he much preferred 6L6GC valves to the current new production line of KT66 valves. He was saying that these KT66 new production valves don't sound anything like GEC KT66's. Basically he thinks that they are shite. I took his advice and yanked out the JJ KT66 valves. I tried some old Fender 5881 valves and didn't like the sound . The amp just wouldn't clean up at all. It's too bad that valves like GEC KT66 valves are so damned expensive. And you guys in Australia have to pay huge for anything you buy from the United States. Same in Canada. The dollar is only worth 70 cents for every U.S. dollar. I have used JJ valves for a good while now and I have had a lot of them go south on me. Not really a big fan of JJ valves. Had some KT77'S in my Mesa Boogie Tremoverb amp combo and they blew up. I have had some Svetlana winged C EL34 valves that I have had for years and believe it or not, these still are playing great after all of these years. Even though the price on these is huge, they are definitely worth the money. I remember when I used to buy these in the States for $20.00 USD for each valve. That was a steal at that price. Now they've gone crazy not as bad as NOS RCA 6L6GC 's. Anyways , loved the video. Thanks Michael Newell from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
ОтветитьHe's not kidding kids, No hearing protection from the'70's-'90's. I,m now living 24/7 with the worst tinnitus you could imagine, I have to run two fans on high at night just to sleep. Take care of what you got now, sure as shit you're no more bullet proof than I am
ОтветитьThis why I like you channel Leon, one day you play heavy riff on your SLO and the following day you have a Strat thru a dimed JTM45! Super great sound! I'd love to see ya compare such JTM and a JMP with same settings!
Ответитьi would play 50 marshall heads on full but with ear protection and 100 feets away.yes its cool .
ОтветитьSounds positively glorious. And the less gain than modern amps would make this a recording and live playing boss! And let us not forget the guitar (Momose) is a very nice sounding guitar also (Disclaimer: I may in fact own that exact guitar, or it's twin from MT).
