When he is 2-3 year's old (if my memory is correct) Ravi kiran visited Melkote with his parents, in that age he recognized all ragas, for that purpose only a kacheri organised in our Melkote temple Thayar sannidhi.

The wonderful thing here is that by technique, chitraveena is the ancestor of the fretted veena being played as accompaniment. The oldest form of veena in india is in the style of the Hindustani Rudraveena- a stick zither with two calabash kolambakas (gourds) played with a side called kona.
