Tom's topic was Covered Call Trading. As author Euan Sinclair has written, "covered calls are .... the rare example of a popular retail strategy that works well and makes good sense. Over time they have delivered equity-like returns with lower risk". In other words, here is a simple options strategy that is proven viable that you can readily trade. Tom gave a demo of how he manages a covered call portfolio using a set of Excel worksheets. He included a walkthrough of a series of actual trades and the thinking behind them. He also demonstrated how he extracts the data from TOS and pastes it into Excel. He also briefly reviewed his trading results over a number of other strategies that he trades. His talk was followed by a broader discussion.
