Looking @ a bunch of vids bc I’m seriously considering a solo trip lol. I’ve gone a couple times with my fam but we’re all grown & it’s just so expensive so they’re over it lmao. And then all my friends are in relationships so they have to save money/time for trips with S/Os. Idk how you meet people 😂 I talk to people in lines/on transit sometimes but I’ve never talked enough to act make plans with new peops haha idk how to do that but that’d be the dream on a solo trip hahaha

Fantastic video! I’m planning a solo trip for June and cannot wait! Love your tips, especially being out of comfort zone as I’m very socially awkward so gonna set myself a target of talking to 10 strangers a day :)

Very helpful. Thankyou. As a near future retiree, I'll most likely be doing this. Not that much though. Not really that up on the lone wolf bit for Disney World or meeting someone new at the park thing too much. Probably will just find a bunch of nice beaches all over the place and chill. And there are a lot of nice beaches in this world. And just hit Disney and other amusement parks in the future just here and there. Been to Disney like a zillion times in the past with family but never alone. Now as a near retiree, and yess!!! I'm :) really happy about that!!! I'm just chillin for some years. Low stress, Low worry, Low problems, just enjoy, that's all I want or need, good enough for me!!!

Would loveee a more detailed vid mate! I've been to Orlando twice now with friends, but I'm thinking about booking a solo trip and would love some advice on how to penny pinch. I see you stayed offsite during your trip, and Im wondering if it was worth it over staying onsite at Disney?

Thank for this video. I've just got back from my first solo trip, to Disneyland Paris. I did character dining on my own and thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't think I'd speak to anyone whilst I was away but in the end I just threw myself in to the whole experience and come away with some new friends. Your tips helped, so thanks again.

Great video! I just went on a short trip with family but they wanted to bail early on our one day at Magic Kingdom. I said "BYE" and flew solo, best time I had the whole trip! Watched Happily Ever After from a great spot, rode Haunted Mansion, used my FP for Seven Dwarfs Mine train, then got FP for Winne the Pooh and Jungle Cruise, had an ice cream, sat and people watched. PERFECTION! Definitely considering doing a whole solo trip now, I love going with people, too, but there is something to be said about the freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want.

Agree with you about making the fast passes and schedule to have them, but not always sticking to them. I sometimes play the game of just jumping on whatever bus shows up first to the resort. Makes a day more spontaneous and fun. I just tend to book the more popular fast passes on multiple days, then I can adjust my plans easier and not feel like I’m missing out.

First off, I really enjoy your vlogs. It is refreshing when someone manages to come across as a real person rather than as a manufactured persona. For me, the best vloggers are the ones that seem like friends, rather than trying to be entertainers. Coming across as natural and charming within a medium that can easily come across as too forced/inauthentic (or awkward and cringe-inducing) is a real talent. I know I'd totally SUCK at it!

As a seasoned (AKA "ancient") solo Disney traveler, your Top Tips were excellent. I especially liked your advice about doing things a bit outside your normal comfort zone as well as advising people not to feel self-conscious about being solo. Early on as a newbie solo visitor, I manufactured an internal "story" that I was taking time off from attending a conference or taking a break from the rest of my (fictitious) travel party. It helped me feel less awkward, back when I had the slightest concern of what others may think--those days are long gone! The strangers around you probably don't give a crap why you're riding Peter Pan by yourself...and if they do, it's an opportunity to make them feel horrible for prying into something so personal ("this was my murdered mother's favorite ride, so I always ride it in her honor of her memory"). Ok, I never did that, but dreaming of a snappy retort can be a fun exercise whilst waiting in a long line!

As far as getting out of one's comfort zone, I've found that doing some of the premium experiences have been rewarding, especially those that force you to interact with strangers. Wild Africa Trek, the Segway tour at Fort Wilderness, Dining With an Imagineer, the Safari/Dinner at AKL, Keys to the Kingdom Tour, etc., are great add-ons to a solo trip...other than the fact that they have become shockingly expensive in some cases. The only one that I regret was swimming in the big aquarium at Epcot...I definitely prefer being on the other side of the glass!

Lastly, I've found that solo dining at a lounge/bar (especially at the bar counter) is much better than quick service (which can feel lonely). For a splurge, the Signature restaurants are great for single diners...lots of interaction with terrific cast members and they've always gone out of their way to make me feel comfortable.

Anyway, keep up the great work and I really look forward to your future vlogs!

So you have to book it but a great place to relax in HS is actually Sci-Fi Dine In. I think it’s the most quiet restaurant on Disney property because everyone is watching the films. It’s dark. The food is good and you can just hang out/chill watching the films for a while after you finish your meal!

Sam you’re really funny! Great tips, all of them! I have an annual pass and live about 80 minutes from WDW. To relax, especially while at the Magic Kingdom I like riding the hotel monorail to the Polynesian. It’s quiet and most of all, air conditioned! I too periodically will go to the parks by myself. I enjoy it...never really gone with the expressed intent to meet someone new.

Love your vlog! Lots of good information. On my Disney trip last year, I had 3 days on my own. At first it felt awkward, but I actually did so much more being alone!! And I had lunch at the Brown Derby all by myself. Yes...I have to admit it was a bit uncomfortable, but I'm glad I did it!

On my one solo day I did MK and Epcot. I can say my favorite place to chill is the world showcase. I had a fp for Frozen and planned to do test track single rider. However, I ended up not doing either because I was so comfortable just walking around lazily and stopping to eat at the various booths. It was December at night therefore the weather was cool so sitting anywhere was fine. It was also comforting looking around and seeing other ppl by themselves eating in various spots. I think Epcot is where more solos would go, I noticed 4 other ppl alone on the bus there too. You're right, I don't think anyone cares. I only noticed them because I was LOOKING to see if anyone else was alone so I wouldn't feel like a weirdo lol
Are you planning more future solo trips?

I went on a solo trip in Sept 2017. I kept forgetting to eat. 😂 and I’m not a skinny girl! Towards the end of the trip I started really take in my surroundings by having lunch one the hub at MK, really exploring the countries in Epcot (especially Morocco, Japan, and China; they have beautiful, quiet areas most people just bypass!) My “escape” in Hollywood studios where they have the history of Walt. There are some benches in there... that’s the only place I can think of! Also, you can become a Disney historian by asking the CM at the door. They’ll give you a test and if you pass you get a certificate and sign a book! There is a place behind the tree of life in DAK where it’s very peaceful and the view of the water and the tree are just beautiful! Loved these tips!

I'm somewhat introverted and somewhat outgoing, but I'm taking a 14 day solo trip in September because I love Disney and the immersion of being there. When I've gone with someone, they always want to change plans, walk extremely slow when we need to be somewhere, take 20 minute bathroom breaks, and the like....so screw it...I'm going solo. I'm doing it for me. I'm going to sit in the middle of Ohana at dinner by myself and just enjoy the food and the atmosphere. I'm going to ride Test Track about 20 times. I'm going to go to Flight of Passage and have about 5+ Fastpasses for it while walking up past the standby queue watching everyone that is waiting for 4 hours give me dirty looks like "How were you able to get a freakin Fastpass for this?!" or the infamous "Well I saved alot of money staying offsite so it all balances out."

.....

No it really doesn't. Stay on-site...get your ass out of bed at 6:30am and be ready to be a mouse clicking war hero when it comes time to book Flight of Passage Fastpasses, then you won't have to wait in your 4 hour line and try to convince yourself that it "balanced out" because you saved money staying off-site.

Anyways, Sam I'm rambling. Yea I'm going on a 14 day solo trip in September of this year.

Chill out in Hollywood Studios - exit for Tower of Terror. Epcot - Japan Pavilion garden! Future world side of Epcot tho, yeah, not so nice.
We went to Epcot first on our most recent trip because Magic Kingdom had one of the early morning magic events, and Epcot had extra magic hours.... with the UK jetlag we needed to make use of the morning!
